Illinois Fighting Illini Men's Gymnastics
The Illinois Fighting Illini men's gymnastics team represents the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign and competes in the Big Ten Conference. The Fighting Illini have been invited to 47 NCAA tournaments and have won 10 team NCAA championships, which is second most all-time only to Penn State Nittany Lions' 12 team titles. Additionally, the Fighting Illini have won an all-time record 53 individual NCAA titles. The Michigan Wolverines men's gymnastics team represents the University of Michigan and competes in the Big Ten Conference. The Wolverines have won seven NCAA championships, 18 Big Ten championships and have been invited to 31 NCAA tournaments. Tyler Mizoguchi (born November 14, 1989) is an American gymnast from the University of Illinois specializing in men's all around. He was an NCAA All-American for the 2010 and 2011 seasons and has a career high seven individual titles. Paul Ruggeri III (born November 12, 1988) is a senior elite American gymnast who competed for the University of Illinois and is currently training at the USOTC in Colorado Springs, CO. Childhood Ruggeri is the grandson of an Italian immigrant. His father was a swimmer and his aunt a gymnast. He attended Fayetteville Manlius High School in his home town of Manlius, New York. Abie Grossfeld (born March 1, 1934) is an American gymnastics coach and former gymnast. Grossfeld has represented the United States as a gymnastics competitor or coach in seven Olympic Games, seven World Championships, six Maccabiah Games, and five Pan American Games — in addition to many other major gymnastics events.
