Ilkka Alanko
Ilkka Tapani Alanko (born 21 November 1969) is a Finland, Finnish musician. He is a lead vocalist, co-founder, songwriter, and guitarist for the Finnish rock band Neljä Ruusua. Alanko's debut solo album ''Elektra (Ilkka Alanko album), Elektra'' was released in 2009, and it peaked at number seven on the Finnish Albums Chart. Alanko is also a founder of the eponymous ensemble Ilkka Alanko Orchestra. In 2010, the orchestra released its debut album ''Ruusuja'', which also spawned a television documentary ''Ilkka Alanko Orchestra – Poplaulajan työpäivä''. In 2010, Alanko won the talent show ''Kuorosota'', the Finnish version of ''Clash of the Choirs'', with his choir. Petri Pykälä (born 13 December 1962), commonly known by his pseudonym Ilkka Remes, is a Finnish author of thrillers for adults and for young adults. Remes was born in Luumäki. He has stated he uses a pseudonym because he does not want to be considered only a thriller writer, and wants to be able to write other genres of books in the future. Remes lives in Belgium with his wife and two children. He was awarded the '' Kalevi Jäntti Literature Award'' in 1997, the ''Clue of the Year Award'' from the Finnish Detective Novel Society in 1999 and the Olvi Foundation Literature Award in 1999. The World Sauna Championships were an annual endurance contest held in Heinola, Finland, from 1999 to 2010. They originated from unofficial sauna-sitting competitions that resulted in a ban from a swimming hall in Heinola. The Championships were first held in 1999 and grew to feature contestants from over 20 countries. Sauna bathing at extreme conditions is a severe health risk: all competitors competed at their own risk, and had to sign a form agreeing not to take legal action against the organizers. Notably, the Finnish Sauna Society strongly opposed the event. After the death of one finalist and near-death of another during the 2010 championship, the organizers announced that they would not hold another event. This followed an announcement by prosecutors in March that the organizing committee would not be charged for negligence, as their investigation revealed that the contestant who died may have used painkillers and ointments that were forbidden by the organizers. Ilkka Pikkarainen
Ilkka Pikkarainen (born April 19, 1981) is a Finnish ice hockey right winger who last played for IPK in Mestis. Most of his career has been spent in the Finnish Liiga, though he also played 31 games in the National Hockey League with the New Jersey Devils during the 2009–10 season. Career Pikkarainen began his professional career in the SM-liiga with HIFK at the end of the 2000–01 season. He played there for two full seasons and was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the seventh round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, 218th overall. Pikkarainen came over to North America to play for the Albany River Rats, the Devils' American Hockey League affiliate, starting in the 2003–04 season. Ilkka Olavi Pastinen (17March 192812January 2018) was a Finnish ambassador who also served as Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations. Pastinen was born in Turku. Ilkka Nummisto (April 24, 1944 – June 29, 2019) was a Finnish sprint canoer who competed from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s. Competing in four Summer Olympics, he earned his best finish of fifth in the K-4 1000 m event at Mexico City in 1968. Ilkka Mikkola (born 18 January 1979) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey defenceman who most notably played for Oulun Kärpät of the Finnish Liiga. Playing career In the time of his 12 seasons in league, Mikkola has won eight championships, which is more than any active player in the league. In the 2004–2005 SM-liiga season, Mikkola was the best defenceman of the league and was also chosen to the SM-liiga All Star-game.
