Il Mio Amico Jekyll
''My Friend, Dr. Jekyll'' ( it, Il mio amico Jekyll), is a 1960 Italian comedy film directed by Marino Girolami. It is a parody of the Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novella ''Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde''. The film deals with the concept of a mind swap. A professor uses a mind swap technique to transfer his own mind to the body of a tutor. A later attempt to return the body to its original owner results in the professor's mind inhabiting the body of a monkey. Plot summary In 20th century Italy, Giacinto Floria is a tutor in a rehabilitation center for former prostitutes. Floria is kidnapped each night by Professor Fabius who transfers his mind into Floria's, making him a crazed sex fiend. A detective later discovers this is happening and frees Floria from his kidnapper while the Professor's mind ends up within the body of a monkey at a zoo. Marino Girolami
Marino Girolami (1 February 1914 – 20 February 1994) was an Italian film director and actor. Biography Marino Giorlami was born on 1 February 1914 in Rome, Italy. Formally a Professional boxer, Girolami ended his boxing career when he was 20. Following this, he got a degree as a physical therapist and opened a gym which specialized in therapeutic massages. Girolami entered into Italy Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. Among the people Girolami met was Anna Magnani who took her son Luca to meet him which led to close relationship between them. Girolami gave her the script he had been working on of ''Campo de'fiori'' which was passed on to Aldo Fabrizi. The story was re-written by Girolami and Federico Fellini and directed by Mario Bonnard, which led to Girolami working in film. He debuted as an actor in 1940, and became an assistant director for Mario Soldati, Marcello Marchesi, Vittorio Metz. Carlo Croccolo
Carlo Croccolo (9 April 1927 – 12 October 2019) was an Italian actor, voice actor, director and screenwriter. Biography Born in Naples, Croccolo began his acting career on the radio and he appeared in more than 100 films since 1949. His debut came in the 1949 film ''The Firemen of Viggiù'' and he made his first television debut in 1956. He was best known for some of his collaborations with Totò mainly throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Croccolo’s international appearance came from the 1996 film '' In Love and War'' directed by Richard Attenborough. He also had an intense theatrical career as he often starred in plays directed by Eduardo De Filippo and Giorgio Strehler. The lira (; plural lire) was the currency of Italy between 1861 and 2002. It was first introduced by the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy in 1807 at par with the French franc, and was subsequently adopted by the different states that would eventually form the Kingdom of Italy in 1861. Maria Fiè (11 October 1940 – 27 August 1989), also known professionally as Gloria Milland was an Italian actress of peplum and Spaghetti Western films. Life Born in Cagliari, Sardinia, she debuted in 1959 with her real name, but changed it shortly later, following a fashion of the time for American-sounding stage names. In 1960s she was very active in light comedies and adventure ( pepla) films, often in main roles, then did a few spaghetti westerns, but dissatisfied with her career, she chose to retire from show business in the late 1960s.
