Ihor Mykhaylovych Rybak ( ua, Ігор Михайлович Рибак, also spelled Igor Rybak, 21 March 1934 – 28 September 2005) was a Ukrainian weightlifter. Olympic weightlifting, or Olympic-style weightlifting (officially named Weightlifting), is a sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with each athlete trying to successfully lift the heaviest weights. Athletes compete in two specific ways of lifting the barbell overhead: these are the snatch and the clean and jerk. The ''snatch'' is a wide-grip lift, in which the weighted barbell is lifted overhead in one motion. The ''clean and jerk'' is a combination lift, in which the weight is first taken from the ground to the front of the shoulders (the clean), and then from the shoulders to overhead (the jerk). The clean and press, wherein a clean was followed by an overhead press, was formerly also a competition lift, but was discontinued due to difficulties in judging proper form. Ravil Khabutdinov
Ravil Nezamovich Khabutdinov (russian: Равиль Незамович Хабутдинов; 15 December 1928 – 1 November 1997) was a weightlifter from Russia. He started training in weightlifting in 1948 while serving in the Soviet Army. In 1956 he finished third at the national championships, but was selected for the national team and won silver medals at the 1956 Summer Olympics and European championships, both times behind Ihor Rybak. Next year, in absence of Rybak, he won the European and national lightweight titles and retired from competitions.
