Igor Savitsky
Igor Vitalyevich Savitsky (russian: И́горь Вита́льевич Сави́цкий) (4 August 1915 in Kyiv, Russian Empire – 27 July 1984 in Moscow, Soviet Union) was a Ukrainian-born painter, archeologist and collector, especially of avant-garde art. He single-handedly founded the State Art Museum of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, named after I. V. Savitsky, an art museum based in Nukus, Uzbekistan. Life and work Early years Igor Vitalyevich Savitsky was born in Kyiv in 1915 in the family of a lawyer. His father had Polish and Jewish roots (his grandfather was born in a Polish family, his grandmother was Jewish). His maternal grandfather, Timofey Florinskiy was a famous Russian slavicist and professor at Kyiv University, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the author of many studies who created his own scientific school. Alexander Nikolaevich Volkov
Alexander Nikolaevich Volkov (Russian: Александр Николаевич Волков; August 31, 1886, in Fergana – December 17, 1957, in Tashkent) was an avant-garde Russian painter. Although his style was much influenced by Cubo-Futurism, it was officially declared formalist and counter-revolutionary, condemning him to obscurity. He was also an acclaimed poet. Amaravella (russian: Амаравелла; from Sanskrit ''amaravella''), or the Cosmists (Космисты), was a group of young Soviet artists active between 1923 and 1928. Its members included Aleksandr Sardan (Barabanov) (1901–1974), Boris Smirnov-Rusetsky (1905–1993), (1891–1971), (1895–1942?), (1900–1972) and (1879–1945/46). Solomon Nikritin ( uk, Соломон Борисовiч Нiкрiтiн; 1898–1965) was a Ukrainian painter, avant-garde artist ( Neo-Primitivist, Constructivist), philosopher, and author. Biography Solomon Nikritin was born in Chernihiv, Ukraine (then part of the Russian Empire). In 1909–1914 he attended Kiev Art School (KKHU). Vera Ignatyevna Mukhina (russian: Ве́ра Игна́тьевна Му́хина; lv, Vera Muhina; french: Vera Moukhina; – 6 October 1953) was a prominent Soviet sculptor and painter.
