Igor Gomes
Igor Silveira Gomes (born 17 March 1999) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Atlético Mineiro. Club career São Paulo Born in São José do Rio Preto, Gomes played youth football for América-SP and Tanabi, before joining São Paulo FC's academy at the age of 14. In 2018, he took part in the Copa do Brasil Sub-20-winning campaign. On 11 September 2018, his contract was extended until 31 March 2023. On 26 September 2018, Gomes was promoted to the first team, making his debut as a professional on the following 26 November, as a second-half substitute for Felipe Araruna in a 0–0 draw to Sport in the national league. On 24 March 2019, he scored his first two goals in a 2–1 win over Ituano in the state league. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the ''Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Latin American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''America's Liberators Cup''". The 2019 season was São Paulo's 90th year since the club's existence. 2018 São Paulo FC Season
The 2018 season was São Paulo's 89th year since the club's existence. Due previous year playing for remaining in first division of national league, the club started his performance at state league, Campeonato Paulista, mistrusted by his own fans and media. The head coach Dorival Júnior was fired after 5 losses in only 14 matches, being defeated by all main rivals in just a month. To replace Dorival, São Paulo selected the Uruguayan Diego Aguirre, a former forward who was in the club for a short period of time in 1990. The Copa Paulista de Futebol, formerly known as Copa FPF, also sometimes called Copa Federação Paulista de Futebol or, in English, São Paulo State Cup, is a tournament organized by Federação Paulista de Futebol Company every second half of the season. 2017 São Paulo FC Season
The 2017 season was São Paulo's 88th year since the club's existence. At the beginning of this year São Paulo had as a featured the return of retired goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni, the owner of record numbers in ''Tricolor´s'' history such as 1,237 matches and 131 goals in 23 years. Originally, it was to be held from 23 July to 8 August 2020, but the Summer Olympics were postponed to the following year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament was the 13th edition of the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament, the quadrennial, international, age-restricted football tournament organised by the Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (CONMEBOL) to determine which men's under-23 national teams from the South American region qualify for the Olympic football tournament.
