Ignite (band)
Ignite is a melodic hardcore band from Orange County, California. Formed in 1993, their commercial breakthrough album, '' A Place Called Home'', was released in 2000 on TVT Records. Prior to this release, they were well regarded among hardcore fans, thanks in part to constant touring and having visited over 40 countries. Much of the band's music is socially and politically aware. Ignite actively supports, and has given proceeds to, organizations such as Earth First, Doctors Without Borders, Sea Shepherd, and Pacific Wildlife. Former lead singer Zoltán "Zoli" Téglás has taken account of such issues as environmental concerns and vegetarianism—common topics found on ''A Place Called Home''. The legacy of Soviet Communism in Eastern Europe is another recurring theme, in part because of Teglas' Hungarian background. History On May 9, 2005, they filmed a live DVD at The Troubadour with A Dying Dream and Eightyonedays in West Hollywood, California. The DVD was never release ...

Past Our Means
''Past Our Means'' is a six track EP by Californian hardcore punk, Ignite. It was released on September 13, 1996 on Revelation Records. It follows the previous year's full-length album ''Call On My Brothers''. Overview Ignite, at the time of this EP, played melodic hardcore, heavily influenced by bands like Government Issue and No For An Answer – not least because of Zoli Teglas' vocal style and patterns. Short, fast-paced songs punctuated only by the stomping mid-tempo of "In Defense". Lyrically, most songs tackle subjects such as loyalty, society, and general strife. However, on the final track, "Taken Away", Teglas draws on his experiences in his Hungarian homeland. Track listing *All songs written by Ignite #"Holding On" – 2:02 #"Past Our Means" – 2:23 #"In Defense" – 3:00 #"Embrace" – 2:22 #"Self-Made Man" – 1:20 #"Taken Away" – 2:55 Credits * Zoli Teglas – vocals * Joe D. Ignite / Good Riddance
Ignite / Good Riddance is a split EP by the hardcore punk bands Ignite and Good Riddance, released in 1996 through Revelation Records. Good Riddance's tracks were two of seven that had been demoed for their second album ''A Comprehensive Guide to Moderne Rebellion'' but had been left off the record; they were recorded in a separate session from the album, with Andy Ernst at Art of Ears, and used on split EPs with Reliance, Ignite, Ill Repute, and Ensign over the following year. Reflecting on the song "Twenty-One Guns", Good Riddance singer Russ Rankin said it was "a song about the plight of a soldier risking his life in some remote outpost for a cause he isn't privy to. The irony that we flippantly waste so much human life but wait until someone's death to bestow all of this honor and ceremony upon them. Musically a very angry song, very Born Against sounding to me now." "Class War 2000" was influenced musically by T.S.O.L. and lyrically by The Dils' 1977 song "Class War", after w ...

Our Darkest Days
''Our Darkest Days'' is the fourth studio album by American punk rock band Ignite. It was released on May 16, 2006 through Abacus Recordings. Following the release of their third studio album '' A Place Called Home'' (2000), the band left their label, went through line-up changes, and the members focused their time on the side project California United. Despite starting pre-production for a new album in early 2005, they did not start recording until November 2005, and eventually finishing in January 2006. Sessions were held at Maple Sound Studios in Santa Ana, California, and Paramount Studios, Hollywood, California with producer Cameron Webb. The album's melodic hardcore sound evokes the music of 7 Seconds and AFI (specifically their 1999 album '' Black Sails in the Sunset''). ''Our Darkest Days'' received generally favorable reviews from music critics, some of whom praised the song writing and frontman Zoli Téglás' vocals. After recording finished, Ignite toured the US betwe ...
