Ignatyev, Ignatiev, or Ignatieff (russian: Игнатьев; masculine) or Ignatyeva (; feminine) is a Russian surname derived from the name Ignatius, in Russian, Ignatiy/Ignaty. Ignat Bednarik (March 8, 1882 – March 11, 1963) was a Romanian painter who worked in almost every genre of painting before devoting himself purely to watercolor. He was also interested in decorative art, design, interior decoration and book illustration. In his lifetime, he produced more than 3,000 works of art. Biography Early life Bednarik was born in Orschowa (Orşova), at the time part of Austria-Hungary, to Czech parents; he was son of the second marriage of Adalbert Bednarik (originally from Moravia) and Genoveva Hauschka, followed by two sisters, Genoveva, and Maria. While a pupil at the Traian High School in Drobeta Turnu Severin, he won first prize for his works in drawing at the ''Tinerimea Română'' society. From 1898 to 1900, Bednarik studied at the Bucharest School of Fine Arts under the sculptor and water-colourist, Ion Georgescu. Ignat Kaneff ( bg, Игнат Христов Кънев; 6 October 1926 – 12 July 2020) was a Bulgarian Canadians, Bulgarian-Canadian business magnate and philanthropist. Biography Ignat Hristov Kaneff was born on 6 October 1926 in Gorno Ablanovo, Bulgaria. He was one of six children in the family of Hristo and Mita Kanevi. He could not afford to complete school, and left Bulgaria at the age of 14, moving to Austria to look for employment. Starting in March 1941, he and a few friends worked for a Bulgarian company that traded in agricultural products. In 1951 he quit work in Austria, and emigrated to Canada with his wife, Dimitrina Kaneff. He settled in Toronto and started working in the construction business. Originally, he built small houses for newly arrived immigrants. Five years later, in 1956, he founded his first construction company. Ignat Zemchenko ( ua, Іґнат Земченко, born April 24, 1992) is a Ukrainian-Russian professional ice hockey player currently playing with HC Yugra in the Supreme Hockey League (VHL). He was selected by Severstal Cherepovets 10th overall in the 2009 KHL Junior Draft, and made his KHL debut in the 2009–10 KHL season. He played for Russia in the 2012 IIHF World U20 Championship.
