Rzeszów
Rzeszów ( , ; la, Resovia; yi, ריישא ''Raisha'')) is the largest city in southeastern Poland. It is located on both sides of the Wisłok River in the heartland of the Sandomierz Basin. Rzeszów has been the capital of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship (province) since 1 January 1999, and is also the county seat, seat of Rzeszów County. Osvobozhdenie, german: Befreiung, pl, Wyzwolenie) is a film series released in 1970 and 1971, directed by Yuri Ozerov and shot in wide-format NIKFI process (70 mm). ''Stawka większa niż życie'' (''More Than Life at Stake'', ''Stakes Larger Than Life'' or ''Playing for High Stakes'') was a Polish black and white TV series about the adventures of a Polish secret agent in Soviet service, captain Hans Kloss (real name Stanisław Kolicki, codename J-23), who acts as a double agent in the Abwehr during Second World War in occupied Poland. Its precursor was a television play of the same name, broadcast live in 1965 by Telewizja Polska. 14 episodes of the play were made, with the two main characters, the protagonist, Abwehr Hauptmann Hans Kloss, and his key antagonist, SS-Obersturmführer Hermann Brunner, portrayed respectively by actors Stanisław Mikulski and Emil Karewicz. Subcarpathian Voivodeship or Subcarpathia Province (in pl, Województwo podkarpackie ) is a voivodeship, or province, in the southeastern corner of Poland. Its administrative capital and largest city is Rzeszów. Along with the Marshall, it is governed by the Subcarpathian Regional Assembly. ''Eroica'' (released in some territories as ''Heroism'') is a 1958 Polish film by Andrzej Munk, and his second feature film after Man on the Tracks (1956). ''Eroica'' is composed of two separate stories, presenting satirical critiques of two aspects of the Polish character: acquisitive opportunism, and a romantic fascination for heroic martyrs. The film’s title is an ironic reference to Ludwig van Beethoven”s Third Symphony, which the composer initially dedicated to then French head Consulate Napoleon Bonaparte.
