If You Have To Ask
"If You Have to Ask" is a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers from their 1991 studio album ''Blood Sugar Sex Magik''. It was released as the album's fifth and final single in 1993. A music video was made, but merely consists of live footage of the band from a 1992 show at the Winter Show Buildings in Wellington, New Zealand overdubbed with the original album track. The video is notable because it is one of only two videos to feature guitarist Arik Marshall (" Breaking the Girl" being the other). The video was rarely aired on music television and the song along with the video was not featured on the band's Greatest Hits album. Like the song " Aeroplane" from their 1995 album ''One Hot Minute'', it was one of the two music videos from the Warner era not available on their official app. The verses of the song consist of a scratchy, minimalist funk lick played on the guitar, with a busier bass melody playing behind it. The lyrics in the verses are a stream of consciousness style run ...

Songs Written By John Frusciante
A song is a musical composition intended to be performed by the human voice. This is often done at distinct and fixed pitches (melodies) using patterns of sound and silence. Songs contain various forms, such as those including the repetition and variation of sections. Written words created specifically for music, or for which music is specifically created, are called lyrics. If a pre-existing poem is set to composed music in classical music it is an art song. Songs that are sung on repeated pitches without distinct contours and patterns that rise and fall are called chants. Songs composed in a simple style that are learned informally "by ear" are often referred to as folk songs. Songs that are composed for professional singers who sell their recordings or live shows to the mass market are called popular songs. These songs, which have broad appeal, are often composed by professional songwriters, composers, and lyricists. Art songs are composed by trained classical compos ...

Red Hot Chili Peppers Songs
Red is the color at the long wavelength end of the visible spectrum of light, next to orange and opposite violet. It has a dominant wavelength of approximately 625–740 nanometres. It is a primary color in the RGB color model and a secondary color (made from magenta and yellow) in the CMYK color model, and is the complementary color of cyan. Reds range from the brilliant yellow-tinged scarlet and vermillion to bluish-red crimson, and vary in shade from the pale red pink to the dark red burgundy. Red pigment made from ochre was one of the first colors used in prehistoric art. The Ancient Egyptians and Mayans colored their faces red in ceremonies; Roman generals had their bodies colored red to celebrate victories. It was also an important color in China, where it was used to color early pottery and later the gates and walls of palaces. In the Renaissance, the brilliant red costumes for the nobility and wealthy were dyed with kermes and cochineal. The 19th century brought the ...

One Hot Minute
''One Hot Minute'' is the sixth studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on September 12, 1995 by Warner Bros. Records. The worldwide success of the band's previous album ''Blood Sugar Sex Magik'' (1991) caused guitarist John Frusciante to become uncomfortable with their popularity, eventually quitting mid-tour in 1992. Following a series of short-term replacements, the band hired guitarist Dave Navarro in 1993; it was his only studio album with the band. Recording for the album took place at the Sound Factory in Hollywood from June 1994 to February 1995. It marked the second collaboration between the band and producer Rick Rubin. A departure from the funk of ''Blood Sugar Sex Magik'', ''One Hot Minute'' is characterized by heavy metal riffs and psychedelic rock influences, primarily due to the influence of Navarro, formerly of Jane's Addiction. Vocalist Anthony Kiedis, who had resumed addictions to cocaine and heroin in 1994 after being sober for more ...

Aeroplane (Red Hot Chili Peppers Song)
"Aeroplane" is a song by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers from their sixth studio album, ''One Hot Minute'' (1995). It was the third single released from the album and a music video accompanied its release. Although the song was left off the band's ''Greatest Hits'' album, the music video was included on the accompanying DVD. Critical reception Larry Flick from '' Billboard'' wrote, "This delightful flight of fancy from the Chili Peppers shows why the act continues to succeed in spite of a frequently changing lineup and evolving musical tastes. An attractive pop tune pepped up with Flea's characteristic funk bass, "Aeroplane" may not be the Peppers' finest piece, but it is exceptionally radio friendly." Chart performance The single peaked at number eight on the Modern Rock Tracks chart where " My Friends" hit number one and " Warped" hit number seven. However, it outperformed "Warped"'s number 13 placing on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart (where "My Friends" was als ...

Greatest Hits (Red Hot Chili Peppers Album)
''Greatest Hits'' is the second compilation album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was released on November 18, 2003, by Warner Bros. Records. Aside from their cover of " Higher Ground", all songs on the compilation are from their tenure on Warner Bros. Records from 1991 to 2002, in addition to two newly recorded songs. ''Greatest Hits'' was released along with a separately sold DVD containing most of their music videos from the same time period. The album was released with Copy Control protection system in some European markets, but not in the United States. Overview While their first hits compilation album ''What Hits!?'' encompasses material from their 1984 debut to 1989's '' Mother's Milk'', this collection of songs takes off from that point, including material from their 1991 album ''Blood Sugar Sex Magik'' up through their 2002 album ''By the Way''. It was during this period of their career that the band became a major commercial force in the music industry. Therefore, th ...

Breaking The Girl
"Breaking the Girl" is a song by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers from their fifth studio album, ''Blood Sugar Sex Magik'' (1991). It was released as the fourth single from their studio album in August 1992 and is a melodic ballad that refers to a turbulent relationship between frontman Anthony Kiedis and his former girlfriend, Carmen Hawk. Composition "Breaking the Girl"'s bridge is marked by a percussion break that builds through the use of increasingly complex rhythms. The percussion instruments consisted of junkyard debris found by drummer Chad Smith, guitarist John Frusciante, and bassist Flea. Frusciante's main riff was inspired by Led Zeppelin's ballads, such as "The Battle of Evermore" and " Friends". The song also makes use of a 12-string guitar and a Mellotron, using the flute patch. It is one of only six songs the group has recorded in the 6/8 time signature, the others being "Porcelain" on ''Californication'', "Love of Your Life" and "Open/Close" from the ...
