Melissa Lou Etheridge (born May 29, 1961) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and guitarist. Her eponymous debut album was released in 1988 and became an underground success. It peaked at No. 22 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and its lead single, " Bring Me Some Water", garnered Etheridge her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female in 1989. "On Bended Knee" is a song by American R&B group Boyz II Men for the Motown label. The song, which was written and produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, was released in November 1994 as the second single from their second album, '' II'' (1994). The song reached number one on the US '' Billboard'' Hot 100 Airplay chart and number two on the ''Billboard'' Hot Singles Sales chart on December 3, 1994. It came into existence as a daily newspaper in 1981 when two formerly independent newspapers, Vísir and Dagblaðið, merged.
