If (conjunction)
Prototypical conditional sentences in English are those of the form ''"If X, then Y".'' The clause ''X'' is referred to as the ''antecedent'' (or ''protasis''), while the clause ''Y'' is called the ''consequent'' (or ''apodosis''). A conditional is understood as expressing its consequent under the temporary hypothetical assumption of its antecedent. Conditional sentences can take numerous forms. The consequent can precede the "if"-clause and the word "if" itself may be omitted or replaced with a different complementizer. The consequent can be a declarative, an interrogative, or an imperative. Special tense morphology can be used to form a counterfactual conditional. Some linguists have argued that other superficially distinct grammatical structures such as wish reports have the same underlying structure as conditionals. Conditionals are one of the most widely studied phenomena in formal semantics, and have also been discussed widely in philosophy of language, computer scienc ...

Destiny Fulfilled
''Destiny Fulfilled'' is the fifth and final studio album by American R&B trio Destiny's Child. It was released on November 16, 2004, by Columbia Records and Sony Urban Music. A comeback release, it marked the return of Destiny's Child after the group went into hiatus, which allowed each member to release solo albums. Unlike their previous material, this record saw each member equally contributing to the songwriting and production. Destiny's Child further worked with frequent collaborators such as Rockwilder, Swizz Beatz and Rodney Jerkins as well as several new producers. For the album's theme, the members drew inspiration from the conversations they had during the first week of recording when they discussed about the happenings in their lives while being apart. Composed mostly of mid-tempo songs and ballads that are subsequent continuations of each other, altogether telling one complete story, ''Destiny Fulfilled'' is an R&B album. It was released to generally mixed revie ...

Exotica (Bananarama Album)
''Exotica'' is the eighth studio album released by the British female vocal duo Bananarama. This is Bananarama's third album as a duo, and was produced by Pascal Caubet and issued only in France in 2001 on the M6 Interactions label. The work is a combination of new compositions along with re-recordings of past Bananarama hits, including a Latin pop version of the U.S. and UK Top 10 hit, " Cruel Summer". Two promo-only singles were released from the album: "If" (which was abandoned mostly before release) and a cover version of George Michael's "Careless Whisper". The album was not a commercial or critical success for Bananarama, but the few copies of "If" which made it to the French market have become one of the rarest items ever by the band, heavily sought after by fans and collectors. Track listing France CD version #"If" — 3:52 (P. Caubet, S. Dallin, K. Woodward) #"Starz" — 3:45 (S. Dallin, T. Moran, Bassey Walker) #"What You Gonna Do" — 4:32 (S. Dallin, B. Walker) #" Cr ...

Ceremony (The Cult Album)
''Ceremony'' is the fifth studio album by British rock band The Cult, first released on 23 September 1991. The most popular songs on the album are “Wild Hearted Son” and “Heart of Soul”. Album information ''Ceremony'' represented a period of great turmoil within the band. Longtime bassist Jamie Stewart had departed prior to recording, and the working relationship between vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy was at an all-time low. The pair reportedly rarely agreed to appear at the studio together, opting to record their parts separately at different times. The album was highly anticipated by both music critics and fans as a result of the band's previous worldwide successes with their 1987 album ''Electric'' and its 1989 follow-up ''Sonic Temple''. It was heavily inspired by Native American culture. The band was sued for $61,000,000 by the parents of the Native American boy pictured on the album cover. The album reached #25 in the U.S. and reached #9 in ...

If (Pink Floyd Song)
"If" is a song by Pink Floyd on their 1970 album '' Atom Heart Mother''. This song was one of several to be considered for the band's "best of" album, '' Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd''. Writing Written and sung by Roger Waters, like " Grantchester Meadows" before it, "If" carries on a pastoral and folky approach, but instead deals with introspection. The song is in the key of E major. Live The song was performed live at a John Peel session on 16 July 1970, at BBC's Paris Theatre, London. Waters performed it on several occasions, during the 1984–85 'Pros and Cons' tour, and in support of '' Radio K.A.O.S.'' in 1987. For these performances, "If" was expanded with additional lyrics and chord sequences. The song was later played by Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets in 2018, 2019 and 2022 in a medley with Atom Heart Mother. Reception In a review for the ''Atom Heart Mother'' album on release, Alec Dubro of ''Rolling Stone'' gave "If" a negative review, calling the song "En ...
