Idrees Bashir
Idrees Bashir (; born December 7, 1978) is a former American football safety in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the University of Memphis. He was drafted in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. In his career Bashir was also a member of the Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions. NFL career Bashir, a defensive back out of Memphis, was drafted in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Bashir played in 51 games over 4 seasons (2001–2004) with the Colts, amassing 234 tackles and 5 INT's. After signing with the Panthers prior to the 2005 season, Bashir appeared in 11 games, and had only 2 tackles. Safety (American Football Position)
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. In human anatomy, a hamstring () is any one of the three posterior thigh muscles in between the hip and the knee (from medial to lateral: semimembranosus, semitendinosus and biceps femoris). The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured.
