Idaho Legislature
The Idaho Legislature consists of the upper Idaho Senate and the lower Idaho House of Representatives. Idaho is divided into 35 legislative districts, which each elect one senator and two representatives. There are no term limits for either chamber. The crossing of upper and lower house districts into a single constituency is found in only seven U.S. state legislatures: Idaho, Arizona, Maryland, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Washington. Denton Darrington
Denton Darrington (born April 30, 1940) is a former Republican Idaho State Senator serving from 1982 to 2012. He represented the Idaho 27th District which included all of Cassia County. Early life and career Senator Denton Darrington was born in Burley, ID and currently lives in Declo, ID. He graduated from Declo High School. Darrington is married to Virgene Lind Darrington and they have five children. Darrington attends the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bingham County is a county in the U.S. state of Idaho. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 47,992. The county seat and largest city is Blackfoot. Oneida County is a county located in the U.S. state of Idaho. As of the 2010 Census the county had a population of 4,286. The county seat and largest city is Malad City. Most of the county's population lives in Malad City and the surrounding Malad Valley. History The county is named for Oneida Lake, New York, the area from which most of the early settlers had emigrated. Oneida County was organized on January 22, 1864, with its county seat established at Soda Springs in present-day Caribou County. Brent Hill (born April 23, 1949) is an American politician and Certified Public Accountant who served as a member of the Idaho Senate from 2000 to 2020. Mark Ricks
Mark George Ricks (July 4, 1924 – September 29, 2016) was a Republican politician from Idaho. He served as the 40th lieutenant governor of Idaho from June 2006 to January 2007. Political career Ricks' introduction to politics occurred in the late 1940s and early 1950s when he served as a Republican Precinct Committeeman. He was pressured to run for the Idaho Senate in 1976. He did not run, due to his time-consuming calling in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as stake president. Because of his calling, he was put in charge of the recovery effort when the Teton Dam collapsed. Ricks was nationally recognized for his leadership in organizing the successful recovery effort.
