Ichiro Hosotani
is a former Japanese Association football, football player. He played for Japan national football team, Japan national team. Club career Hosotani was born in Hyogo Prefecture on January 21, 1946. After graduating from Waseda University, he joined Urawa Reds, Mitsubishi Motors in 1969. The club won the league champions in 1969 Japan Soccer League and 1971 Emperor's Cup. In 1973, the club won 1973 Japan Soccer League, Japan Soccer League and 1973 Emperor's Cup, Emperor's Cup. In 1978, the club won all three major title in Japan; 1978 Japan Soccer League, Japan Soccer League, 1978 JSL Cup, JSL Cup and 1978 Emperor's Cup, Emperor's Cup. He retired in 1978. He played 140 games and scored 58 goals in the league. 1972 Japan Soccer League
The 1972 season in Japanese football introduced a Second Division to the Japan Soccer League. Nine clubs were chosen from the 1971 Japanese Regional Leagues; when Nagoya Mutual Bank resigned from the League, a tenth club was chosen from the Kansai League. League tables JSL First Division No relegation took place as the First Division was being expanded to 10 clubs. JSL Second Division Toyota Motors, later one of the Japanese big names as Nagoya Grampus, was crowned the inaugural Second Division champion. Tanabe Pharmaceutical, a club from Osaka, followed them into the expanded 10-team First Division. No relegations took place, to keep the Second Division at 10 clubs.
