Biladhi Shuhoom
Biladhi Shuhoom is a small village near Ibri town in Oman. The village lies near Mokniyath town on the way to Ibri. There is one school and Friday mosque in the village. Transportation The village has no bus service but there is a mud road through which four-wheeled vehicles can access the village. The population of the village is around 300 people. Demography Most of the people living in the village are Omani Arabs of Bedouin descent. There are also a small number of expatriate workers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Egypt. The total number of people is not more than 300. Geography Unlike other parts of Oman, this village is very green because of the presence of little mountain streams called ''wadi''s. The presence of water allows the cultivation of wheat and they also keep livestock here. Date farms are also common. Administration Biladhi Shuhoom comes under Wilayath Ibri administration. Oman is divided into eleven governorates (''muhafazah''), and has been since 28 October 2011. Each of the 11 governorates are divided into ''wilayat'' (provinces). Regions and governorates before 2011 Before 28 October 2011, Oman was divided into five regions (''mintaqah'') and four governorates (''muhafazah''). The governorates were Muscat, Dhofar, Buraimi and Musandam. Buraimi was created in October 2006 from parts of Ad Dhahirah Region. The regions are further subdivided into 61 wilayat. Mezyad, Al-Ain
Mezyad ( ar, مَزْيَد, Mazyad) is a settlement in Al-Ain Region in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, located to the south of the main part of Al Ain City, on the border with Oman. It is known for having a historical fort, and is part of a desert park, which also includes a necropolis and Mount Hafeet nearby. The park can be called either "Mezyad Desert Park" or "Jebel Hafeet Desert Park". History As a region, Al-Ain has been inhabited for over 7 millennia, as demonstrated by archeological finds. Nizwa
Nizwa ( ar, نِزْوَى, Nizwā) is the largest city in Ad Dakhiliyah Region in Oman and was the capital of Oman proper. Nizwa is about (1.5 hours) from Muscat. The population is estimated at around 72,000 people, including the two areas of Burkat Al Mooz and Al-Jabel Al-Akhdar. Nizwa is one of the oldest cities in Oman and it was once a center of trade, religion, education and art. Its Jama (grand mosque) was formerly a center for Islamic learning. Nizwa acquired its importance because it has been an important meeting point at the base of the Western Hajar Mountains. Al Buraimi Governorate ( ar, مُحَافَظَة ٱلْبُرَيْمِي, Muḥāfaẓat Al-Buraimī) is one of the 11 governorates of Oman which was split from the Ad Dhahirah Region. Until October 2006, the area was part of Ad Dhahirah Region. At this time, the new governorate was created from the Wilayats (Provinces) of Al Buraymi and Mahdah.
