	Ibrahim Abi-Ackel Ibrahim Abi-Ackel (born 27 March 1927) is a Brazilian politician. Ackel began his public life in 1955 as councilman in the city of Manhuaçu, Minas Gerais. 	Manhuaçu Manhuaçu is a municipality in Eastern Minas Gerais state, in Brazil. Its population was 91,169 (2020) and its area is 628 km2. He was chief of the Secret Service (SNI) during the term of his predecessor, Ernesto Geisel, who appointed him to the presidency at the end of his own mandate. He continued the process of redemocratization that Geisel had started and sanctioned a law decreeing amnesty for all political crimes committed during the regime.
