Ian Sloan (field Hockey)
Ian Martin Sloan (born 19 November 1993) is an Irish field hockey player, who plays as a midfielder for Wimbledon and the England and Great Britain national teams. He represented Great Britain at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Sloan was a member of the England teams that won the bronze medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and at the 2017 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship. He also represented England at the 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup. Early years, family and education Sloan is the youngest son of Martin and Adele Sloan. Martin Sloan is a former Ireland captain and Great Britain field hockey international. Adele Sloan is a former Ireland women's field hockey international and between 2007 and 2013 was the head teacher at Cookstown High School. The Ireland women's national field hockey team is organised by Hockey Ireland and represents both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in international women's field hockey competitions, including the Women's Hockey World Cup and the Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship. Men's English Hockey League
The Men's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organized by England Hockey that features men's teams from England and Wales. Format Regular season There are 62 teams in the league, the top tier consists of a Premier Division of twelve teams. Below this is tier two, which consists of two ten-team Division One regional teams (North and South). The third tier consists of three regional conferences North, West, and East, all consisting of ten teams. The teams play each other home and away during an 18 week season from September to April. 2011–12 Euro Hockey League
The 2011–12 Euro Hockey League was the fifth season of the Euro Hockey League, Europe's premier club field hockey tournament organized by the EHF. It was held at four different locations from October 2011 to May 2012. The final was played between Hamburg and Amsterdam at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Hamburg defeated Amsterdam 2–1 on penalty strokes (2–2 after extra time) to win a record third title. HGC were the defending champions, but they did not qualify for this season's edition. The Men's Irish Hockey League is a field hockey league organised by Hockey Ireland that features men's teams from both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The league was first played for during the 2008–09 season. It replaced the All-Ireland Club Championships as the top level men's field hockey competition in Ireland. David Vincent Leslie Ames (born 25 June 1989) is an Irish field hockey player, who plays as a defender or midfielder for Oranje-Rood and the England and Great Britain national teams. McCullough Cup
The McCullough Cup is a hockey competition. It is an annual tournament played for by schools affiliated to the Ulster Branch of the Irish Hockey Association. The competition is held in the winter term of each school year, with the older Burney Cup running in the Spring term. The most successful school is Royal Belfast Academical Institution with 17 wins (16 outright wins and 1 shared win). The current holder is Royal Belfast Academical Institution.
