Ian Sinclair (activist)
Ian McCahon Sinclair (born 10 June 1929) is a former Australian politician who served as leader of the National Party from 1984 to 1989. He was a government minister under six prime ministers, and later Speaker of the House of Representatives from March to November 1998. Sinclair was born in Sydney and studied law at the University of Sydney. He later bought a farming property near Tamworth. Sinclair was elected to parliament in 1963, and added to the ministry in 1965 as part of the Menzies Government. Over the following six years, he held various portfolios under four other prime ministers. Sinclair was elected deputy leader of his party in 1971, under Anthony. He was a senior member of the Fraser Government, spending periods as Minister for Primary Industry (1975–1979), Minister for Communications (1980–1982), and Minister for Defence (1982–1983). Rex Patterson
Rex Alan Patterson (8 January 1927 – 13 April 2016) was an Australian politician. He was a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and held ministerial office in the Whitlam Government as Minister for Northern Development (1972–1975), the Northern Territory (1973–1975), Northern Australia (1975), and Agriculture (1975). Douglas Scott (politician)
Douglas Barr Scott (12 May 1920 – 12 March 2012) was a former Australian National Party politician and briefly government minister. Scott was born in Adelaide, South Australia and graduated from Scotch College, Adelaide and from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts. He was a farmer and grazier before entering politics. During World War II, he was a member of the Royal Australian Naval Volunteer Reserve from 1941 to 1945 and was discharged with the rank of lieutenant. Scott was appointed by the Parliament of New South Wales on 6 August 1970 to the Australian Senate to fill a casual vacancy created by the death of Colin McKellar and held it until the 21 November 1970 half Senate election. Neil Anthony Brown (born 22 February 1940) is a former Australian politician. He was deputy leader of the Liberal Party and deputy opposition leader from 1985 to 1987, under John Howard. He served as Minister for Employment and Youth Affairs (1981–1982) and Minister for Communications (1982–1983) in the Fraser Government. Early life Brown grew up in Essendon, in Melbourne's inner north. His father Alexander Brown was an electrical mechanic. Anthony Allan Staley (born 15 May 1939) is an Australian politician. John Spender
John Michael Spender (2 December 1935 – 13 October 2022) was an Australian politician, diplomat and barrister. He was a member of the House of Representatives from 1980 to 1990, representing the Liberal Party, and was a shadow minister under Andrew Peacock and John Howard. Lionel Frost Bowen, AC (28 December 1922 – 1 April 2012) was an Australian politician and senior Labor Party figure, serving in the ministries of Gough Whitlam and Bob Hawke. John Howard
