Ian Noe (born May 9, 1990) is a singer-songwriter from Beattyville, Kentucky US. Noe's debut album ''Between The Country'' was produced by Dave Cobb who plays guitar on the album, while Adam Gardner plays bass and organ piano. In 2007 Ian Noe won the grand prize in the Appalachian Starsearch in Hazard, Kentucky with his original song ''Don't Let The Morning Bring Ya Down''. His subject matter includes death, addiction, lost love, and poverty. Noe is featured performing several of his songs on a Jason Momoa video and he supported John Prine on tour in Germany, Sweden and Norway in 2019. Beattyville is a list of Kentucky cities, "home rule class" city in Lee County, Kentucky, Lee County, Kentucky, United States. The city was formally established by the Kentucky Assembly, state assembly as "Beatty" in 1851 and incorporated in 1872. It was named for Samuel Beatty, a pioneer settler. Jamestown Revival is an American folk duo made up of Zach Chance and Jonathan Clay. The childhood friends from Magnolia, Texas, write songs about everyday life that are a combination of harmonies that merge Southern country, Americana and Western rock music. Son Volt is an American rock band formed in 1994 by Jay Farrar after the breakup of Uncle Tupelo. Contemporary folk music refers to a wide variety of genres that emerged in the mid 20th century and afterwards which were associated with traditional folk music. Starting in the mid-20th century a new form of popular folk music evolved from traditional folk music. This process and period is called the (second) folk revival and reached a zenith in the 1960s.
