Ian Nicoll
Ian Nicoll (born 2 October 1946) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the late 1960s. A left footer, Nicoll played with Whorouly in the Ovens and King Football League, then joined Wangaratta in the Ovens and Murray Football League for one season in 1966, before joining Carlton and served them mainly as a rover / forward pocket. Whorouly Football Club
Whorouly is a town in northeast Victoria, Australia. Its name is possibly derived from an Aboriginal word meaning a black (or red) cockatoo, although another suggestion is that it means "underwater". The town is in the valley of the Ovens River and in the Rural City of Wangaratta local government area, north-east of the state capital, Melbourne and south-east of the regional centre of Wangaratta. At the , Whorouly and the surrounding area had a population of 376. Prior to the 1994 council amalgamations by the Kennett Government (and the creation of the Rural City of Wangaratta), the township was in the disbanded Shire of Oxley. The Ovens & King Football Netball League is a minor country Australian rules football league based in North-Eastern Victoria in the vicinity of Wangaratta and more recently Benalla. History The ''Ovens & King Football League'' was formed on the 13th of June 1903, after a handful of men met at The Bulls Head Hotel in Wangaratta to consider forming a football competition. The Ovens and Murray Football Netball League (O&MFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition containing ten clubs based in north-eastern Victoria, Australia, Victoria, the southern Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia, New South Wales and the Ovens and Murray area.
