Ian Morris (musician)
Ian Gordon Morris (22 January 1957 – 7 October 2010) was a musician, record producer, recording engineer and songwriter from New Zealand. Musical career Ian Morris and his brother Richard (who would also go on to become a successful singer, songwriter and sound engineer in New Zealand under the name ''Rikki Morris'') were born in England but emigrated with their family to New Zealand in 1966. They attended Sacred Heart College, Auckland. Ian was a founding member of iconic New Zealand band Th' Dudes, formed at Sacred Heart in 1975. He had chart hits as a solo artist under the name ''Tex Pistol'' (a name he took on because "Ian Morris idn'tsound poppy enough"), and in collaboration with his brother Rikki as ''Tex Pistol and Rikki Morris''. Ian Morris (historian)
Ian Matthew Morris (born 27 January 1960) is a British historian, archaeologist, and Willard Professor of Classics at Stanford University. Early life Morris was born on 27 January 1960 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. He attended Alleyne's High School, a comprehensive school in Stone, Staffordshire. He studied at the University of Birmingham, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 1981. He undertook a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the University of Cambridge, graduating in 1985. His doctoral thesis was titled "Burial and society at Athens, 1100-500 BC". Career From 1987 to 1995, he taught at the University of Chicago. Since 1995, he has been at Stanford. Since joining Stanford, he has served as Associate Dean of Humanities and Sciences, Chair of the Classics Department, and Director of the Social Science History Institute. Ian ("Frinty") Morris (born 30 November 1961 in Siparia) is a retired male track and field athlete from Trinidad and Tobago who specialized in the 400 metres. A former soccer player for the Siparia Angels in South Trinidad, he did not take up athletics until the age of 23. He occasionally ran the 200 metres The 200 metres, or 200-meter dash, is a sprint running event. On an outdoor 400 metre racetrack, the race begins on the curve and ends on the home straight, so a combination of techniques is needed to successfully run the race. Ian Morris (born 27 February 1987) is an Irish people, Irish Association football, football manager and former player. Career Dublin-born Morris came through the youth ranks at Leeds United F.C., Leeds United. After being on the fringes of the first-team squad, he spent the majority of the 2005–06 in English football, 2005–06 season on loan (football), loan at Blackpool F.C., Blackpool, for whom he scored three goals in 30 appearances before returning to Leeds United F.C., Leeds United, where he was a reserve team player, usually playing as a left-sided midfielder or forward (association football), striker. Morris had two loan spells with Chesterfield F.C., Chesterfield during the 2009–10 season. In July 2010, he signed a year-long loan deal to return to ''the Spireites'' for the 2010–11 campaign.
