Ian McIntyre (soccer)
Ian McIntyre (born 1972) is the coach of the Syracuse Orange men's soccer team. He previously coached at Oneonta and Hartwick. Early life McIntyre grew up in Basildon, England and played for an Arsenal FC youth team. Playing career McIntyre was a sweeper for the Hartwick Hawks from 1992–1995. The team had a 50–20–7 record during his four seasons as a player. The team also made 2 NCAA Tournament berths and a 52-20-7 record during his four seasons. McIntyre was named to the NSCAA All-American First Team in 1995. In that same year, he was named the Hartwick Male Athlete of the Year. He was inducted into the Hartwick College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001, his first year of eligibility. Coaching career McIntyre began his coaching career at Fairfield University as an assistant coach from 1996-98 under former Hartwick assistant coach Carl Rees. Basildon ( ) is the largest town in the borough of Basildon, within the county of Essex, England. It has a population of 107,123. In 1931 the parish had a population of 1159. 2012 Big East Conference Men's Soccer Tournament
The 2012 Big East men's soccer tournament was the 17th edition of the tournament, and the last to be organized by the original Big East Conference. The event decided the Big East Conference champion and guaranteed representative into the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. Held from October 31–November 11, it was the first men's college soccer conference tournament to begin in the 2012 season. The semifinal and championship rounds were held for the third-consecutive year at Red Bull Arena, in Harrison, New Jersey. The 2022 ACC men's soccer tournament was the 36th edition of the ACC Men's Soccer Tournament. The tournament decided the Atlantic Coast Conference champion and guaranteed representative into the 2022 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament. The final was played at Sahlen's Stadium in Cary, North Carolina. The defending champions, Notre Dame was unable to defend their title, falling to Clemson in the first round. Clemson advanced to the final, becoming the lowest seed to do so in tournament history. However, Clemson could not complete their improbable run, losing to Syracuse 2–0 in the final. The victory was the second ACC Tournament title during Syracuse's time in the ACC and second title under head coach Ian McIntyre. NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament
The NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament, sometimes known as the College Cup, is an American intercollegiate soccer tournament conducted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and determines the Division I men's national champion. The tournament has been formally held since 1959, when it was an eight-team tournament. Since then, the tournament has expanded to 48 teams, in which every Division I conference tournament champion is allocated a berth.
