Ian Herron
Ian Herron (born 1 October 1971) is a Northern Irish former professional rugby league footballer. Background Herron was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. While attending James Cook High School in Kogarah, New South Wales, he played for the Australian Schoolboys team in 1988. Herron played his junior rugby league for the Arncliffe scots before signing with St. George. Career Herron played for the St. George Dragons, Balmain Tigers and Parramatta Eels in Australia and Gateshead Thunder and Hull F.C. in the Super League. His position of choice was on the , and he also played at . He played in two Grand Final teams for the St. George Dragons in 1992 and 1993, and was a prolific goal-kicker. The North Sydney Bears is an Australian rugby league football club based in North Sydney, New South Wales. The club competes in the New South Wales Cup, having exited the National Rugby League following the 1999 NRL season after 90 years in the premier rugby league competition in Australia. The Newcastle Knights are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Newcastle, New South Wales. They compete in Australasia's premier rugby league competition, the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership.
