Ian Fowler Executive Of The Year Award
The Ian Fowler Executive of the Year Award is an annual National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) award given since the 2011–12 season. It is awarded to the top member of the NBL Canada's executive committee, including the owners of the teams. The recipient is chosen by the league commissioner. It is one of two business awards given by the NBL, the other being New Franchise of the Year. Since its inception, the London Lightning have had two executives that have been selected, owner Vito Frijia in and general manager Taylor Brown in . London is the only team in the league that has had more than one of its front office members win the award. The London Lightning is a Canadian professional basketball team based in London, Ontario, Canada, with home games at the Budweiser Gardens. The team is a charter member of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) that began play for the 2011–12 season and won the league's first championship. Vito Frijia
Vito Frijia is an Italian-Canadian businessman and construction engineer. He is currently the owner of the London Lightning of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL). At the league's Board of Governors' meeting in May 2015, he was unanimously voted the President of the NBL Canada. Frijia is also the president of the Southside Group, who have contributed to the construction of several prominent buildings in Southwestern Ontario. Early life Frijia moved to Canada from Italy when he was 8 years old. He attended Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, and played for their men's basketball team from 1979 to 1981 under head coach Glenn Johnston. Moncton Miracles
The Moncton Miracles were a Canadian professional basketball team in Moncton, New Brunswick. Established in 2011, they were a charter member of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL). The Miracles played their home games at the Moncton Coliseum as a part of the league's Atlantic Division and were one of two New Brunswick teams in the league along with the Saint John Riptide. Andre Levingston is an American entrepreneur and basketball coach. He was formerly an auto detailer and schoolteacher. He is a co-founder of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) and most recently served as the owner and president of the Halifax Rainmen.
