Ian Ferguson (canoeist)
Ian Gordon Ferguson (born 20 July 1952) is New Zealand's second most successful Olympian. He won four Olympic gold medals competing in K1, K2, and K4 kayak events, and attended five Summer Olympics between 1976 and 1992. He also won two canoe sprint world championship titles. Early life and family Ferguson was born in Taumarunui on 20 July 1952, the son of Gilbert and Winsome Ferguson. He was educated at Palmerston North Boys' High School, and was an all-round sportsperson, achieving in running and rugby union, and becoming the school swimming champion. Ferguson studied at Victoria University of Wellington, completing a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration degree in 1976. Ian Ferguson (footballer, Born 1967)
Ian Ferguson (born 15 March 1967) is a Scottish football coach and retired professional player. He started his career with Clyde, then moved to St Mirren in 1986, scoring the winning goal as the club won the 1987 Scottish Cup Final. Ferguson moved to Rangers in 1988 and stayed with the Ibrox club for 12 years, during which time he helped them win nine consecutive Scottish league championships. He has since been inducted to the club's Hall of Fame. He played for Dunfermline Athletic for two seasons, before emigrating to Australia where he played for Northern Spirit and Central Coast Mariners. Ferguson appeared in nine full international matches for Scotland. Since retiring as a player, he has managed North Queensland Fury, Perth Glory, Northern Fury and Stirling Macedonia. Ian Ferguson (born 5 August 1968 in Dunfermline) is a Scottish former professional footballer. He played for ten clubs in a seventeen-year senior career. Career Ferguson began his career at junior club Lochgelly Albert in the 1980s. In 1987, he signed professional terms with Raith Rovers, and went on to make 111 league appearances for the Stark's Park club, scoring 23 goals. In 1992, he moved to Edinburgh to join Hearts in a £100,000 deal. In just under two years with the ''Jambos'', he scored nine goals in 60 appearances, the most notable being the winner in an Edinburgh Derby in March 1992. Ferguson signed for St Johnstone for £110,000 in 1993, but his four years in Perth were blighted by injury and he managed only 42 league appearances. Colonel Ian Bruce Ferguson, (13 April 1917 – 21 December 1988) was an officer in the Australian Army who served in the Second World War and Korean War. Early life Ferguson was born on 13 April 1917 in Wellington, New Zealand, the only child of D'Arcy Stuart Ferguson and Ethel May, née Rattray. His parents divorced and he lived with his mother. Iain John Ferguson (born 4 August 1962, in Newarthill, North Lanarkshire) is a Scottish former professional football striker. Iain Ferguson is a British businessman. He is the current chairman of Wilton Park, Berendsen and Stobart Group. Career Following graduation from the University of St Andrews with a Bachelor of Science, BSc in chemistry and psychology, he was with Unilever for 26 years. Ferguson has been president of the Food and Drink Federation and was CEO of Tate & Lyle plc from May 2003 until October 2009.
