I Want My Man
''I Want My Man'' is a 1925 American drama film directed by Lambert Hillyer and written by Joseph F. Poland, Earle Snell, and Earl Hudson. It is based on the 1924 novel ''The Interpreter's House'' by Maxwell Struthers Burt. The film stars Doris Kenyon, Milton Sills, Phyllis Haver, May Allison, Kate Bruce, and Paul Nicholson. The film was released on March 22, 1925, by First National Pictures. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Gulian Eyre, a victim of World War I, is deserted by his nurse-wife just as he is to recover his sight. She goes to New York to fight for him against Lael Satori, the girl to whom he was engaged. Vida becomes companion to his mother. Lael insists on becoming engaged again to Gulian for his money and social position. Lambert Hillyer
Lambert Harwood Hillyer (July 8, 1893 – July 5, 1969) was an American film director and screenwriter. Biography Lambert Harwood Hillyer was born July 8, 1893, in Tyner, Indiana. His mother was character actress Lydia Knott. A graduate of Drake University, Drake College, he worked as a newspaper reporter and an actor in vaudeville and stock theater. During World War I he began working in motion pictures and became a prolific director and screenwriter, working on many silent-era Westerns by William S. Hart, Buck Jones, Tom Mix and others. Often associated with producer Thomas H. Ince, Hillyer expanded into romantic melodramas and crime films in the 1920s. In 1936 he directed two chillers for Universal Studios, Universal, the science-fiction film ''The Invisible Ray (1936 film), The Invisible Ray'' and the cult horror film ''Dracula's Daughter''. Charles Willis Lane
Charles Willis Lane (January 25, 1869–October 17, 1945) was an American stage and film actor, active from 1914 to 1929. Like many film performers born before 1900 Lane had extensive prior Broadway stage or regional theatrical experience stretching back to his youth in the 1890s. Lane was born in Madison, Illinois, and can be seen in silent films usually as a silver-haired other man or confidant.
