''I Should Be with You'' is the sixth studio album by American country music artist Steve Wariner. It was released on March 7, 1988 by MCA Records. It includes the singles "Baby I'm Yours", "I Should Be With You" and "Hold On (A Little Longer)", which reached #2, #2, and #6, respectively, on the ''Billboard'' country charts. The album peaked at #20 on Top Country Albums. "More Than Enough" was recorded the same year by Glen Campbell on '' Light Years'', also produced by Jimmy Bowen for MCA. Steve Wariner
Steven Noel Wariner (born December 25, 1954) is an American country music singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Initially a backing musician for Dottie West, he also worked with Bob Luman and Chet Atkins before beginning a solo career in the late 1970s. He has released eighteen studio albums and over fifty singles for several different record labels. Wariner experienced his greatest chart successes in the 1980s, recording first for RCA Records Nashville and then MCA Nashville. While on these labels he sent a number of singles into the top ten of the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Hot Country Songs charts and received favorable critical reception for the amount of creative control he held over his body of work. Jimmy Layne Webb (born August 15, 1946) is an American songwriter, composer, and singer. He has written numerous platinum-selling songs, including " Up, Up and Away", "By the Time I Get to Phoenix", "MacArthur Park", "Wichita Lineman", "Worst That Could Happen", "Galveston" and "All I Know". Dobro is an American brand of resonator guitars, currently owned by Gibson and manufactured by its subsidiary Epiphone. The term "dobro" is also used as a generic term for any wood-bodied, single-cone resonator guitar. The Dobro was originally a guitar manufacturing company founded by the Dopyera brothers with the name "Dobro Manufacturing Company". A steel guitar ( haw, kīkākila) is any guitar played while moving a steel bar or similar hard object against plucked strings. The bar itself is called a "steel" and is the source of the name "steel guitar". The instrument differs from a conventional guitar in that it is played without using frets; conceptually, it is somewhat akin to playing a guitar with one finger (the bar). Known for its portamento capabilities, gliding smoothly over every pitch between notes, the instrument can produce a sinuous crying sound and deep vibrato emulating the human singing voice. George Grantham (musician)
George Grantham (born January 20, 1947) is an American drummer and vocalist best known for his work with pioneering country rock band Poco. Grantham and pedal steel guitarist Rusty Young (musician), Rusty Young were members of the Denver-based psychedelic rock act Boenzee Cryque when Young left the band in mid-1968 for Los Angeles. There, Young fell in with Buffalo Springfield members Richie Furay and Jim Messina (musician), Jim Messina as they wrapped up that band's final album. With Buffalo Springfield disintegrated, Furay, Messina, and Young joined together to create a new band, originally named "Pogo" but then shortly rechristened "Poco" after copyright concerns forced a change.
