I Have Been Here Before
''I Have Been Here Before'' is a play by J. B. Priestley, first produced by Lewis Casson at the Royalty Theatre, London, on 22 September 1937. Plot introduction At a rural inn on a Yorkshire moor, three people become involved in a strange confrontation with the hallmarks of ''déjà vu'', and a physicist attempts to prevent a disaster. Plot summary Act I Sam and his daughter Sally, proprietors of the Black Bull Inn, are awaiting the arrival of guests when an elderly German professor stops to make enquiries. The inn is booked out; he asks unusual questions about the people staying at the inn, but his conjectures appear to be wrong. Shortly after he is turned away, the three women they had been expecting cancel their bookings by telephone. Sally is annoyed at the cancellation, but almost immediately they receive another telephone call from Mr and Mrs Ormund, a wealthy couple who book two rooms. Celia Johnson
Dame Celia Elizabeth Johnson, (18 December 1908 – 26 April 1982) was an English actress, whose career included stage, television and film. She is especially known for her roles in the films ''In Which We Serve'' (1942), ''This Happy Breed'' (1944), ''Brief Encounter'' (1945) and '' The Captain's Paradise'' (1953). For ''Brief Encounter'', she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Anne Haddy (5 October 1930 – 6 June 1999), credited also as Anne Hardy, was an Australian actress, television presenter and voice artist, who worked in various facets of the industry including radio, stage and television. She was married to actor and scriptwriter James Condon. Haddy appeared in numerous television films early in her career, but was better known for her television soap opera/serials roles, starting with numerous roles in ''Crawford Production'' serials, she had a stint in cult series ''Prisoner'', as Alice Hemmings and a permanent role in '' Sons and Daughters'' as Rosie Andrews. Ken Hannam (12 July 1929 – 16 November 2004) was an Australian film and television director who also worked in British television drama. Career Born in St Kilda, Melbourne, the eldest of three boys, Hannam lived in his youth in Sydney and was educated at Wollaroi College in Orange, New South Wales.
