I Got Mexico
"I Got Mexico" is a song co-written and recorded by American country music artist Eddy Raven. It was released in January 1984 as the first single from the album '' I Could Use Another You''. Co-written with Frank J. Myers, the song was Raven's first No. 1 hit on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles chart in June 1984, and spent a total of thirteen weeks in the top 40 of the country chart. The song became the first No. 1 produced or co-produced by Paul Worley, who had primarily been known as a session guitarist and a songwriter. Edward Garvin Futch (born August 19, 1944), known professionally as Eddy Raven, is an American country music singer and songwriter. Active since 1962, Raven has recorded for several record labels, including ABC, Dimension, Elektra, RCA, Universal, and Capitol Records. After multiple albums which yielded few hit songs, his greatest commercial success came between 1984 and 1990, during which time Raven achieved six number-one singles on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs charts. These were " I Got Mexico", " Shine, Shine, Shine", " I'm Gonna Get You", " Joe Knows How to Live", " In a Letter to You", and " Bayou Boys". Raven has a total of eighteen top-ten hits on that chart. Martina Mariea McBride (née Schiff, born July 29, 1966) is an American country music singer-songwriter and record producer. She is known for her soprano singing range and her country pop material. McBride was born in Sharon, Kansas, and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in 1989. She signed to RCA Records in 1991, and made her debut the following year as a neo-traditionalist country singer with the single, " The Time Has Come". Lady A (formerly known as Lady Antebellum) is an American country music group formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2006. The Chicks (previously known as Dixie Chicks) are an American country music band from Dallas, Texas. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is an American country rock band formed in 1966. The group has existed in various forms since its founding in Long Beach, California. Between 1976 and 1981, the band performed and recorded as the Dirt Band. Constant members since the early times are singer-guitarist Jeff Hanna and drummer Jimmie Fadden. Multi-instrumentalist John McEuen was with the band from 1966 to 1986 and returned during 2001, staying 16 years, then departing again in November 2017.
