I Fly Anything
''I Fly Anything'' is an American old-time radio adventure drama. It was broadcast on ABC from November 29, 1950, until July 19, 1951. Dockery Crane was a freelance pilot who used his Douglas DC-4 plane for any job that was legal and would earn money. He was assisted by co-pilot Buzz and secretary June. ''I Fly Anything'' was unusual in that it featured two men who were not known primarily as actors. Dick Haymes, who starred as Crane, was best known for his singing; the program was his debut as far as a straight dramatic role was concerned. George Fenneman, who played Buzz, was usually heard as an announcer on radio and television. He was not in the show's original cast but was first heard in the January 23, 1951, episode, the same one in which Georgia Ellis joined the cast as Crane's secretary. Dick Haymes
Richard Benjamin Haymes (September 13, 1918 – March 28, 1980) was an Argentinian singer and actor. He was one of the most popular male vocalists of the 1940s and early 1950s. He was the older brother of Bob Haymes, an actor, television host, and songwriter. Background Haymes was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1918. His mother, who survived her elder son, was Marguerite Haymes (1894–1987), a well-known Irish-born vocal coach and instructor of English descent. His father, also of English descent, worked as a rancher. The Haymes family traveled extensively before settling in the United States when Haymes was an infant. George Fenneman
George Watt Fenneman (November 10, 1919 – May 29, 1997) was an American radio and television announcer. Fenneman is best remembered as the show announcer and straight man on Groucho Marx's ''You Bet Your Life''. Marx, said of Fenneman in 1976, "There never was a comedian who was any good unless he had a good straight man, and George was straight on all four sides". Arnold Perl (April 14, 1914 – December 11, 1971) was an American playwright, screenwriter, television producer and television writer. Perl briefly attended Cornell University, but did not graduate.
