ITV News London
''ITV News London'' is a British television news service broadcast on both ITV London and the ITV Hub. It is produced by ITN. History London News Network The programme launched on Monday 4 January 1993 as ''London Tonight'', after Carlton Television won the London weekday franchise from previous holder Thames Television. ''London Tonight'' was originally produced by London News Network – a joint venture between Carlton and LWT designed to provide a sole ITV regional news service for the London area, broadcasting seven days a week. Its creation established a continuity between the once separate services and presentation of the weekend and weekday news, weather and sport in the region, previously provided by ''Thames News'' and ''LWT News''. London Eye
The London Eye, or the Millennium Wheel, is a cantilevered observation wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. It is Europe's tallest cantilevered observation wheel, and is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over 3 million visitors annually. It has made many appearances in popular culture. The structure is tall and the wheel has a diameter of . When it opened to the public in 2000 it was the world's tallest Ferris wheel. Alastair Stewart
Alastair James Stewart Order of the British Empire, OBE (born 22 June 1952) is an English former journalist and newscaster. Formerly presenting for ITV News, he joined GB News as a presenter in 2021. He has won the Royal Television Society's News Presenter of the Year award twice. Stewart joined Southern Television in 1976 then joined ITN in 1980 where he served three years with ''Channel 4 News'' and then went on to become a main newsreader with ITV News. He remained in this role for more than 35 years, making him the longest-serving male newsreader on British television, having worked in both local and national news for 44 years. Sally Anne Biddulph (née Mules; born 16 October 1975 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire) is an English journalist and presenter employed by ITN. Career After a short stint working in business after university, Sally started her new career in journalism in newspapers writing for ''The Times'' and ''The Sunday Telegraph'' before moving into broadcasting, working in radio in Bern, Switzerland. Faye Barker is an English journalist and presenter employed by ITN. Career She began her career at the London-based European Business News, an affiliate of CNBC, in October 1996. Matthew James "Matt" Teale (born 7 March 1975 in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire) is an English broadcast journalist employed by ITV Meridian. Broadcasting career Matt Teale was with ITV in the Midlands from 1997 until 2022 before becoming one of the two main presenters of ITV News Meridian in 2022. Donal MacIntyre (born 25 January 1966) is an Irish investigative journalist, specialising in investigations, undercover operations and television exposés. Nina Hossain is a British journalist and presenter employed by ITN as the lead presenter of the ''ITV Lunchtime News''. Background Hossain was born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England to a Bangladeshi father and an English mother. Her father, Tabarek Hossain (1935–2002), was born in British India (now Bangladesh) and migrated to Britain in the 1960s (when Bangladesh was still East Pakistan). The London Studios
The London Studios (also known as The South Bank Studios, The London Television Centre, ITV Tower, Kent House and LWT Tower) in Lambeth, Central London was a television studio complex owned by ITV plc and originally built for London Weekend Television. The studios were located in Central London, on the South Bank next to the IBM Building and the Royal National Theatre. The building was set on 2.5 acres of land and was 24 floors high. The London Studios closed on 30 April 2018. Many ITV programmes now come from BBC Studioworks Television Centre, White City, London. The facilities were the main studios for ITV, along with a number of production companies including ITV Studios and Shiver based in Kent House tower, while the studios were home to many entertainment, game and daytime shows.
