ITV Morning News
''ITV News at 5:30'' was an early morning news bulletin on the British television network ITV, which was broadcast from 15 February 1988 until 21 December 2012. It was produced by ITN. The 30-minute programme covered British national and international news stories, a brief business update, a look at the morning's newspapers and regular NBC News segments and broadcasts at 5:30 am every day. In the event of a major news story, they occasionally went live to the scene or crossed to the newsroom. History The programme began as the ''ITN Morning News'' on 15 February 1988 with the advent of 24-hour television on ITV; preceding it throughout the night would be 90-second mini-bulletins, fronted by the same anchor as the Morning News. It originally ran for an hour from 5:00am and was the first pre-subscription television outlet in Britain to broadcast regular segments from CNN. Deborah Turness
Deborah Mary Turness (born 4 March 1967) is an English journalist, former CEO of ITN, and current CEO of BBC News. Prior to this she held two positions in NBC News International where she was president of NBC News (2013–2017) and later President of NBC News International. Before NBC, Turness was editor of ITV News (2004–2013), which made her the UK's first female editor of the network news. Early life Born in Meriden, Solihull, England, Turness was educated at St Francis' College and The Knights Templar School in Baldock, Hertfordshire. Turness studied at the University of Surrey, where she took a degree in French and English; she then took a postgraduate course in journalism at the University of Bordeaux, France. Andrea Catherwood
Andrea Catherine Catherwood (born 27 November 1967) is a Northern Irish television presenter and journalist. Early life Andrea Catherwood was born and raised in Belfast where her mother, Adrienne McGuill, was an announcer and newsreader at Ulster Television, from 1959 to 1969 and also presented ''The Romper Room'' from 1964 to 1969 as Miss Adrienne. Nicholas David Arundel Owen (born 10 February 1947) is an English journalist, television presenter and radio presenter. He now works for the BBC, presenting on the BBC News channel and BBC One, and hosts a weekly programme on Classic FM radio.
