IL Norna-Salhus
Idrettslaget Norna-Salhus is a Norwegian athletics club from Salhus in Åsane, Bergen It was founded on 14 October 1935. The club originally had an association football section as well, but it split away in 1987 to form FK Bergen Nord. Since this split Norna-Salhus gradually rose to prominence in national athletics, especially within the jumping section. Triple jumpers Sigurd Njerve and Ketill Hanstveit established Norwegian records. Ketill Hanstveit
Ketill Hanstveit (born 2 November 1973) is a retired male triple jumper from Norway. He represented IL Norna-Salhus. His personal best jump was 17.27 metres, achieved in August 1999 in Byrkjelo. This is the current Norwegian record. He finished tenth at the 1992 World Junior Championships in Seoul, eighth at the 1996 European Indoor Championships in Stockholm, twelfth at the 1998 European Championships in Budapest and fifth at the 2000 European Indoor Championships in Ghent. Mona Holm
Mona Christine Holm, married Solberg (born 5 August 1983) is a Norwegian hammer thrower. Career Early career She grew up in Kolvereid. As a young girl she tried football, handball, badminton, cross-country skiing, cross-country running and the discus throw. She was discovered during a discus meetup in Oslo and advised to try the hammer throw. Lacking a training field, she used to stand on a remote road and throw the hammer into the adjacent woodlands. She attended upper secondary school in Namsos, but still without a group of throwers to train with, so she continued playing handball throughout her teenages. She later took higher education as a physiotherapist. Erik Tysse
Erik Tysse (born 4 December 1980 in Bergen) is a Norwegian race walker. He has competed at four editions of the World Championships in Athletics and represented Norway at the 2008 Summer Olympics and at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He began his international career at the 1998 World Junior Championships in Athletics, and finishing in 17th place at his first major event – the 2002 European Athletics Championships. He finished ninth in the men's 20 km race at the 2006 IAAF World Race Walking Cup, but set a Norwegian record of 1:20:34 in the process. He was one of the top performers on the circuit in 2007 and finished second in the rankings in the IAAF World Race Walking Challenge that year. Tysse improved upon his past performance, finishing in sixth place at the 2008 IAAF World Race Walking Cup, and he also improved his national mark to 1:19:11. Kjersti Tysse Plätzer (born Tysse; 18 January 1972) is a Norwegian race walker, who won the silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, in the 20 kilometres race. She finished 12th in the same race in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and 4th in the 2007 World Championships in Osaka. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, she again won a silver medal in the 20 kilometres race. Sigurd Njerve (born 12 September 1971) is a former Norwegian triple jumper. He represented IL Norna-Salhus. He finished tenth at the 1996 European Indoor Championships in Stockholm and seventh at the 1997 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Paris. Participating at the 1996 Summer Olympics, he did not manage to reach the final. He became Norwegian champion in 1995, 1996 and 2000. Salhus, Bergen
Salhus is an urban settlement in the borough of Åsane in Bergen municipality, Vestland county, Norway. Salhus is located approximately north of the city centre of Bergen. Salhus sits along the shore of the Salhusfjorden on the northern part of the Bergen Peninsula. The village area is located along Norwegian County Road 564, just east of the European route E39 highway and the southern end of the Nordhordland Bridge.
