IL Flint
Idrettslaget Flint is a Norway, Norwegian sports club from Søndre Slagen, Tønsberg, Vestfold. It has sections for association football, team handball, volleyball, table tennis and track and field. Flint is the largest sports club in Vestfold, and the club introduced a new clubhouse in May 2015. The clubhouse is located on Løveid by Tolvsrød, with associated sports facilities and courts. In addition, a number of local grass and gravel courts, school gyms, and Slagenhallen (next to Presterød school) are used. The club was founded on 28 April 1917. Football The club currently plays in 3. divisjon, the fourth tier of the Norwegian football league system. On 10 October 2001, the football section cooperated with 19 other teams in the region to form an elite umbrella team, FK Tønsberg. John Arne Riise
John Arne Semundseth Riise (born 24 September 1980) is a Norwegian professional football manager and former player who played as a left back and a left midfielder. He is currently the manager of Toppserien club Avaldsnes. With 110 caps, Riise is the most capped player for the Norway national team. He was named in the Norway squad for UEFA Euro 2000 but did not play in the tournament. Riise scored 16 goals before his retirement from international duty in 2013. He spent seven years playing for Premier League side Liverpool, in which he won many honours, including the 2004–05 UEFA Champions League, before moving to Roma in 2008. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. Norwegian First Division (handball)
The Norwegian First Division, also called 1. divisjon and OBOS-ligaen (named sponsor is property developer OBOS), is the second-highest level of the Norwegian football league system. Each year, the top finishing teams in the 1. divisjon are promoted to the Eliteserien, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to 2. divisjon. 1. divisjon was previously known as 2. divisjon (1963–1990) and replaced regional league Landsdelsserien (1951–1962) after the latter was dissolved after the 1961–62 season. REMA 1000-ligaen is the premier professional men's handball league in Norway. It was established in 1966, and it is currently contested by twelve teams.
