IHOPKC
The International House of Prayer (IHOPKC) is a charismatic evangelical Christian movement and missions organization based in Kansas City, Missouri, and the nearby suburb of Grandview that focuses on the inerrancy of scripture, and biblical prayer with worship. It is best known for the prayer room which has run 24/7 with live worship teams since September 19, 1999, and simultaneously broadcast via its website and YouTube. Doctrinally, IHOPKC is evangelical, charismatic, post-tribulational, and affirms historic premillennialism. IHOPKC places great importance on the practices of bible study, prayer, worship, fasting, and works of justice. Mike Bickle (minister)
Michael Leroy Bickle (born July 17, 1955) is an American evangelical leader best known for his leadership of the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC). As the leader of IHOPKC, Bickle oversees several ministries and a Bible school. Bickle has written a number of books and served as the pastor of multiple churches. Ministry Mike Bickle became an evangelical Christian at fifteen when his football coach paid his way to a Fellowship of Christian Athletes student conference in Estes Park, Colorado. After listening to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach speak of his "personal relationship with Jesus," Bickle committed himself to become an evangelical Christian. After serving as a pastor in several evangelical churches in St. Louis, Bickle moved to Kansas City to start the Kansas City Fellowship (now known as South Kansas City Fellowship) in November 1982. God Loves Uganda
''God Loves Uganda'' is a 2013 American documentary film produced and directed by Roger Ross Williams, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. It explores connections between evangelicalism in North America and in Uganda, suggesting that the North American influence is the reason behind the controversial Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Act, which at one point raised the possibility of the death penalty for gays and lesbians. Exodus Cry
Exodus Cry is an American Christian non-profit advocacy organization for helping sex trafficking victims as well as seeking the abolition of the legal commercial sex industry, including pornography, strip clubs, and sex work, as well as illegal sex trafficking. It has been described by the '' New York Daily News'', ''TheWrap'', and others as anti-LGBT, with ties to the anti-abortion movement. History The organization originally developed out of a weekly prayer group founded in 2007 by Benjamin Nolot, a filmmaker and member of the Charismatic Christian International House of Prayer. Lou Engle
Lou Engle (born October 9, 1952) is an American Charismatic Christian leader, best known for his leadership of TheCall, which holds prayer rallies. He is the president of Lou Engle Ministries. Engle was a senior leader of the International House of Prayer and has assisted in the establishment of Justice House of Prayer and several other smaller "houses" of prayer. Ministry Engle has been organizing large prayer rallies since 1999, with hundreds of thousands of people in multiple countries participating. TheCall (organization)
TheCall is an organization which sponsors prayer meetings led by Lou Engle along with other Christian leaders pastors in the United States. The meetings request prayer and fasting by Christians in protest against issues such as same-sex marriage and legal access to elective abortion. TheCall has drawn support from American Evangelical leaders, but has also been criticized for intolerance. As of October 2018, Lou Engle has announced the ending of TheCall organization and will be focusing on his newest endeavor, Lou Engle Ministries. The Pasadena International House of Prayer (PIHOP) is a prayer center in Pasadena, California. It is a branch of the charismatic movement and the mission organization International House of Prayer. Justice House of Prayer (JHOP) is a neocharismatic Christian organization based in Kansas City, Missouri that focuses on continual prayer. It was founded by Lou Engle in 2004 and now has locations in five U.S. cities. They are in close association with the International House of Prayer-Kansas City and TheCall. Practices Initially founded in Washington D.C. to focus on prayer for the 2004 United States presidential election, Engle credits a series of dreams and visions with inspiring him to start a house of prayer in Washington D.C.
