Idrettsforeningen Ørnulf is a Norwegian sports club from Oslo. It has sections for amateur boxing and floorball. General history The club was founded in 1893, and was a founding member of the Norwegian Wrestling Federation. It formerly had sections for track and field and amateur wrestling. Ansgar Løvold
Ansgar Løvold (19 November 1888 – 12 November 1961) was a Norwegian wrestler, butcher and philanthropist from Kristiansund. He is most known for participating at the 1912 Summer Olympics and for launching the idea for the Kristiansund and Frei Fixed Link. Løvold started wrestling during his journeyman years while living in Oslo. He joined IF Ørnulf and became Norwegian Champion in Greco-Roman wrestling in 1912. This qualified him to the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm, but Løvold lost both his matches in the light heavyweight event. He moved back to Kristiansund in 1913, where he founded a wrestling club and started as an instructor. He also founded wrestling clubs in Molde and Trondheim. Helge Løvland
Helge Andreas Løvland (11 May 1890, Froland – 26 April 1984, Oslo) was a Norwegian track and field athlete. He won the gold medal in the decathlon at the 1920 Olympics. Løvland was awarded the Egebergs Ærespris in 1919. Representing the club IF Ørnulf, he died in Oslo in 1984. Rolf Kristian Eckersberg Stenersen (13 February 1899 – 15 October 1978) was a Norwegian businessman, non-fiction writer, essayist, novelist, playwright and biographer. He was also a track and field athlete and art collector. Background Stenersen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway as the son of bookseller Johan Martin Stenersen (1866–1948) and Martha Kathrine Eckersberg (1869–1930). He graduated from Kristiania Commerce School (now Oslo Commerce School) in 1918, and studied at Queen's College, Oxford, from 1922 to 1924. Carl Alfred Pedersen
Carl Alfred Pedersen (5 May 1882 – 25 June 1960) was a Norwegian gymnast and triple jumper who competed in the Summer Olympics in 1906, 1908 and 1912. At the 1906 Intercalated Games in Athens, he was a member of the Norwegian team, which won the gold medal in the gymnastics team event. He also participated in the triple jump competition and finished eighth. In 1908 he won a silver medal in the gymnastics team event with the Norwegian team. Oscar Guttormsen
Oscar Guttormsen (27 March 1884 – 15 January 1964) was a Norwegian athlete who specialized in the sprints, jumps and hurdles. He represented the sports club Ørnulf IF in Oslo. He finished fourth in triple jump at the 1906 Summer Olympics. At the 1908 Summer Olympics he participated in several events, in addition to the triple jump where he finished fourteenth. Guttormsen ran in the second heat of the 100 metres, taking second place to John George to be eliminated. His time was 12.0 seconds. He advanced to the semifinals of the 200 metres after a walkover win in the preliminary heats. He placed fourth and last in his semifinal heat to not advance to the final. Carl Albert Andersen
Carl Albert "Flisa" Andersen (15 August 1876 in Østre Aker – 28 September 1951 in Oslo) was a Norwegian pole vaulter, high jumper, and gymnast who competed in the 1900 Summer Olympics, 1906 Intercalated Games and the 1908 Summer Olympics. As an athlete Andersen represented the IF Ørnulf club and set many Norwegian national records as well as being national champion in the pole vault and high jump in 1896, 1897 and 1900. Andersen participated in Athletics at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris and competed in two field events, and won the bronze medal in the pole vault, he jumped 3.20 metres and finished behind two Americans Irving Baxter and Meredith Colket, earlier in the day he had competed in the high jump and jumped 1.70 metres to finish tied for fourth place just 5 centimetres behind another bronze medal.
