The Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) is the trade association that represents companies that finance, produce and license independent film and television programming worldwide. The association is headquartered in Los Angeles, but has a global membership and wide scope of services and advocacy. Its roster of 150 member companies in 23 countries include independent production and distribution companies, sales agents, television companies, studio-affiliated companies and financial institutions. Truth in Accounting (TIA), formerly known as the Institute for Truth in Accounting, is an American think tank that promotes fiscal transparency and accountability. Its stated goal is "to educate and empower citizens with understandable, reliable, and transparent government financial information." Publications Each September, TIA releases its "Financial State of States" report that takes a deep look into each of the 50 states' Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) in order to compare assets with liabilities. The International Federation of Teachers' Associations (IFTA; french: Fédération internationale des associations d'instituteurs, FIAI) was a global union federation representing teachers in primary schools. The federation was established in 1905, as the International Bureau of Federations of Teachers, the first federation of teachers. In 1926, at a meeting in Amsterdam, it was reformed as the IFTA. After World War II, it began working closely with the International Federation of Secondary Teachers (FIPESO). In 1952, FIPESO, the IFTA and the World Organisation of the Teaching Profession merged to form the World Confederation of Organizations of the Teaching Profession. International Fuel Tax Agreement
The International Fuel Tax Agreement (or IFTA) is an agreement between the lower 48 states of the United States and the Canadian provinces, to simplify the reporting of fuel use by motor carriers that operate in more than one jurisdiction. Alaska, Hawaii, and the Canadian territories are not required to participate, however all of Canada and Alaska do. An operating carrier with IFTA receives an IFTA license and two decals for each qualifying vehicle it operates. The carrier files a quarterly fuel tax report. This report is used to determine the net tax or refund due and to redistribute taxes from collecting states to states that it is due. Internet Tax Freedom Act
The 1998 Internet Tax Freedom Act is a United States law authored by Representative Christopher Cox and Senator Ron Wyden, and signed into law as title XI of on October 21, 1998 by President Bill Clinton in an effort to promote and preserve the commercial, educational, and informational potential of the Internet. The law bars federal, state and local governments from taxing Internet access and from imposing discriminatory Internet-only taxes such as bit taxes, bandwidth taxes, and email taxes. It also bars multiple taxes on electronic commerce. One of the principal sponsors of the Act argued that the law also codifies the U.S. Supreme Court's Quill Corp. v.
