IFK Falköping FF is a Swedish football club located in Falköping in Falköping Municipality, Västra Götaland County. Background IFK Falköping is a sports club from Falköping that was founded in 1921 under the name Falköpings BK. The name was changed to IFK Falköping in 1925. The club runs sections covering table tennis, football and ice-hockey and previously provided for bandy. Falköping is a locality and the seat of Falköping Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 16,350 inhabitants in 2010. History The town of Falköping was first spoken of in the Icelandic ''Rimbegla'' (around 1100 A.D.), and is mentioned in the Westrogothic law. It was also an important site of pilgrimage due to its 12th-century church dedicated to Saint Olaf (''Sankt Olofs kyrka''). Swedish Division 3
Division 3 is the fifth level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 144 Swedish football teams. Division 3 had status as the official third level from 1928 to 1986, but was replaced by Division 2 in 1987. It then had status as the official fourth level until 2005, but was replaced once again as Division 1 was recreated in 2006. The competition There are 144 clubs in Division 3, divided in 12 groups of 12 teams each representing a geographical area.
