IC Gentofte
The Gentofte Stars are an ice hockey team in the , the second-highest men’s ice hockey league in Denmark. They play in Gentofte, a northern suburb in the Copenhagen urban area, at the ('Gentofte Skating Hall'). The team previously played in the Metal Ligaen but were relegated in 2018 due to financial troubles. The parent club, Club Gentofte Stars, also has a representative women's ice hockey team (which previously played in the Danish Championship league during 2011 to 2016), active sections in minor and junior ice hockey, and recreational teams for a number of age groups. Gentofte
Gentofte () is a district of Gentofte Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. Major landmarks include Gentofte Town Hall, Gentofte Hospital and Gentofte Church. Gentofte Lake with surrounding parkland and nature reserves form the most important greenspace. Geography Gentofte is roughly bounded by Lyngbyvej to the west, the S-train line to Hillerød to the northeast, Bernstorffsvej to the east and Kildegårdsvej to the south. The southern border with Hellerup is, however, not clearly defined. Gentofte postal district has a somewhat different definition. Gentofte, as defined by Gentofte Municipality, covers circa 335 hectares or 13% of the municipality's total. Cody Kunyk (born May 20, 1990) is a Canadian ice hockey forward currently under contract to Oulun Kärpät of the Liiga. He has formerly played with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League. (NHL) Playing career Kunyk played collegiate hockey for the Alaska Nanooks in the NCAA Men's Division I Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). In his senior year, Kunyk's outstanding play was rewarded when he was chosen as the WCHA Player of the Year and was named to the 2013–14 All-WCHA First Team. Oliver Holton Lauridsen (born 24 March 1989) is a Danish professional ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for the Malmö Redhawks of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Career Wayne Gagné began his college career at Western Michigan in 1983 in Bill Wilkinson's second recruiting class. The small defenseman was an instant hit for the Broncos, scoring 43 points in 41 games in his freshman season.
