A straight-12 engine or inline-12 engine is a twelve-cylinder piston engine with all twelve cylinders mounted in a straight line along the crankcase. Interstate 12
Interstate 12 (I-12) is an Interstate Highway located entirely within the U.S. state of Louisiana. It spans a total of in an east–west direction from I-10 in Baton Rouge to an interchange with both I-10 and I-59 in Slidell. Along the way, it passes through the city of Hammond, where it intersects I-55 and US Route 51 (US 51). It also serves the cities of Ponchatoula and Denham Springs, as well as the St. Tammany Parish cities of Covington and Mandeville. Skirting the northern shore of Lake Pontchartrain, I-12 serves as both a northern bypass of the New Orleans metropolitan area and an alternate route for I-10, which serves the city of New Orleans itself. I-12 parallels the older US 190 corridor and traverses the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain in the southeastern portion of the state. Jönköping Regiment
The Jönköping Regiment ( sv, Jönköpings regemente), designation I 12, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that traced its origins back to the 16th century. It was merged with another unit to form a new regiment in 1927. The regiment's soldiers were originally recruited from Jönköping County, and it was later garrisoned there. History The regiment has its origins in fänikor (companies) raised in Jönköping County in the 1550s and 1560s. In 1619, these units—along with fänikor from the nearby province of Östergötland—were organised by Gustav II Adolf into Östergötlands storregemente, of which eleven of the total 24 companies were recruited in Jönköping County. Östergötlands storregemente consisted of three field regiments, of which Jönköping Regiment was one. Småland Regiment
The Småland Regiment ( sv, Smålands regemente), designations I 12 and I 12/Fo 17, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that traced its origins back to the 16th century. The unit was disbanded as a result of the disarmament policies set forward in the Defence Act of 2000. History The regiment was formed in 1928 as Jönköping-Kalmar Regiment (I 12), following a merger of Jönköping Regiment (I 12), and the Kalmar Regiment (I 21). The regiment moved the same year to the Eksjö garrison. In 1948 the regiment changed its name to Northern Småland Regiment (I 12). On July 1, 1974 the regiment formed with Jonkopings defense area (Fo 17) a defensive field regiment to be known as The 12/Fo 17. When both the Kronoberg Regiment (I 11) and Kalmar Regiment (For 18) were dismantled in 1997, Smålands regiment took over responsibility for Kronobergs defense area (Fo 16) and Kalmar defense area (Fo 18) and integrated the Jönköping defense area, which then formed Smålands defense area ...
