Stephanie Izard is an American chef and television personality best known as the first female chef to win Bravo's ''Top Chef'', taking the title during its fourth season. She is the co-owner and executive chef of three award-winning Chicago restaurants, Girl and the Goat, Little Goat, and Duck Duck Goat, and opened her first restaurant, Scylla (now closed) as chef-owner at the age of 27. George Izard
George Izard (October 21, 1776 – November 22, 1828) was a senior officer of the United States Army who served as the second governor of Arkansas Territory from 1825 to 1828. He was elected as a member to the American Philosophical Society in 1807. Early life and education George Izard was born in Richmond, England, to Ralph Izard, who was a delegate to the Continental Congress and United States Senator from South Carolina, and Alice DeLancey, niece of New York Governor James DeLancey and a descendant of Stephanus Van Cortlandt and Gertrude Schuyler. He graduated from the College of Philadelphia (present-day University of Pennsylvania) in 1792. He attended military academies in England and Germany and received military engineering instruction in France. Biography Early life Izard was born in Wellington on 19 January 1862, the eldest son of Charles Beard Izard, who was a prominent and popular Wellington lawyer and MP for . After having primary education in Wellington, Izard was sent to Harrow, England and read for the bar at Lincoln's Inn where he was admitted as a barrister in 1883. On 12 July 1886, Izard married Stella Margaret Halsted at St Paul's Cathedral in Wellington. Charles Beard Izard (4 December 1829 – 23 October 1904) was a 19th-century Member of Parliament and lawyer in Wellington, New Zealand. Biography Early life Izard was born in Brighton, England, and educated at King's College London and Magdalene College, Cambridge, graduating in mathematics in 1854. After studying at Lincoln's Inn he was admitted to the bar in England. He married Miss Mary Ann Hayward from Sussex in 1859. She died in Wellington on 18 July 1900 aged 71 years. In 1860 they emigrated to Auckland, and that year moved to Wellington. He was a Crown solicitor and partner in the law firm that became Bell Gully. His son, Charles Hayward Izard, was a partner in that firm from 1882 to 1897. He was on the boards of local schools and local companies e.g. the Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company and the Meat Export Company. Carroll Ellis Izard (October 8, 1923 – February 5, 2017) was an American research psychologist known for his contributions to differential emotions theory (DET), and the Maximally Discriminative Affect Coding System (MAX) on which he worked with Paul Ekman. Izard also undertook empirical studies into the facial feedback hypothesis according to which emotions which have different functions also cause facial expressions which in turn provide us with cues about what emotion a person is feeling. In addition, Izard constructed a multidimensional self-report measure – the ''Differential Emotions Scale'' – currently in its 4th edition (DES-IV). Molly Izzard ( Crutchleigh-Fitzpatrick; 1 August 1919 – 4 February 2004) was an English writer. She was the co-author of the book published in 1959 called ''Smelling The Breezes'', which is about a camping trek she and her family took in the High Lebanon mountains. Izzard subsequently wrote ''A Private Life'' in 1963 on her private life at work. In 1969, she authored ''A Life of Dame Helen Gwynne Vaughan'' and ''The Gulf: Arabian Western Approaches'' on Middle Eastern events ten years later. Izzard's final work was a controversial biography on the explorer Freya Stark which was published in 1993.
