Martina Caironi
Martina Caironi (born 13 September 1989) is an Italian Paralympic athlete. She competed at the 2012 Summer Paralympics and 2016 Summer Paralympics. She won a gold medal in the 100 m sprint in 2012 and a silver in the long jump in 2016. She qualified for the 2020 Summer Paralympics. Biography As a result of a motorcycle accident in 2007, Caironi had to undergo high- femoral amputation on her left leg. Disqualification On 17 October 2019, she was disqualified for having been found positive for a steroid contained in a healing ointment, prescribed by her doctor, to treat a severe inflammation of the amputated leg. However, the ''Italian national anti-doping court'', recognizing the good faith of the athlete, reduced the disqualification by one year, therefore the disqualification expired on 9 March 2020. Alvise De Vidi
Alvise De Vidi (born 30 April 1966, in San Biagio di Callalta) is a former paralympic athlete from Italy competing mainly in category T51 wheelchair racing events. Biography Alvise has competed in 6 Paralympics across two sports winning 15 medals seven of them gold. His first games were in 1988 Summer Paralympics where he competed in the 25m Butterfly class 1A winning the gold medal, despite winning a gold medal this would prove to be the only time he competed outside of athletics. In the same games he also competed in seven track events ranging from 100m to 1500m including both the relays and it was in the 4 × 100 m that he won a bronze medal. In the 1992 Summer Paralympics he competed in the 100m, 400m, 800m and 1500m winning the bronze in the 800m. At the 1996 Summer Paralympics proved to be a much more successful year when he won the 400m and 800m gold medals, silver in the 1500m and competed in the marathon. Table Tennis At The 2012 Summer Paralympics – Women's Individual – Class 1–2
The Women's individual table tennis – Class 1–2 tournament at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London took place from 30 August to 2 September 2012 at ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Classes 1–5 are for athletes with a physical impairment that affected their legs, and who compete in a sitting position. The lower the number, the greater the impact the impairment was on an athlete’s ability to compete. In the preliminary stage, athletes competed in four groups of three. Winners of each group qualified for the semi-finals. Table tennis at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London took place from Thursday 30 August to Saturday 8 September 2012 at ExCeL Exhibition Centre. 276 athletes, 174 men and 102 women, competed in 29 events. Oxana Corso (born 9 July 1995 in Saint Petersburg) is a Russian-born Italian Paralympic athlete. , she holds the Women's 400 metres world records for the T35 cerebral palsy classification. She won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, and competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, in 100m T35 and 200m T35. Biography Oxana was born in Russia in 1995, she arrived in Italy at the age of three years and she was adopted by the Roman family Corso, that has chosen to adopt her despite cerebral palsy.
