Italy competed at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, Sweden. Medalists Aquatics Diving A single diver represented Italy. It was Italy's second appearance in diving, with Carlo Bonfanti being the nation's only diver both in 1912 and 1908. Bonfanti did not reach the final in either of his two events. Rankings given are within the diver's heat. Swimming Two swimmers competed for Italy at the 1912 Games. It was the third time the nation appeared in swimming, and both swimmers had previously competed in 1908. Neither Massa nor Baiardo was able to advance to an event final. Massa's second-place finish in his initial heat of the 100 metre freestyle was the only race in which either was not eliminated. The men's 10 kilometres walk was a track and field athletics event held as part of the Athletics at the 1912 Summer Olympics programme. It was the second appearance of racewalking, which had debuted at the previous games with the 10 mile and 3500 metre walks. Athletics At The 1912 Summer Olympics
These are the results of athletics competition at the 1912 Summer Olympics. 30 events were contested, all for men only. The athletics programme grew by 4 events since the 1908 Summer Olympics. The 5000 and 10000 metre races were introduced, as the 5 mile event was eliminated. The 400 metre hurdle event made a brief disappearance, making the 1912 Olympics the only time that event was not held since its introduction in 1900. The 4x100 and 4x400 relays replaced the medley relay while the team race was shortened from 3 miles to 3000 metres. The decathlon, which had been held in 1904 but not in 1908, returned to the programme. Steeplechasing was eliminated, while racewalking was cut from 2 events to 1 with the 10 kilometre replacing the 10 mile and the 3500 metre eliminated. Gymnastics At The 1912 Summer Olympics – Men's Team
The men's team, European system was an artistic gymnastics event held as part of the Gymnastics at the 1912 Summer Olympics programme. It was one of three team gymnastics events. The others were a team competition in the Swedish system and one in the free system. It was the third appearance of the event, which had made its debut in 1904. The official name was ''Team Competition II - with exercises according to special conditions''. For every nation one team was allowed to participate. One team had to consist of not less than 16 nor more than 40 members. The entry was closed on June 6, 1912. As all other gymnastic competitions the event took place in the Olympiastadion.
