Italy Women's National Volleyball Team
The Italy women's national volleyball team is governed by the Federazione Italiana Pallavolo (FIPAV). The team's biggest victories were the gold medal at the 2002 FIVB Women's World Championship, being the first team to break the domination of Russia, Cuba, China and Japan, and the 2007 and the 2011 World Cup, winning 21 out of the 22 matches in both tournaments. FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix
The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix was an annual women's volleyball competition created in 1993. The men's version of the competition was called World League. This event should not be confused with the other international volleyball competitions, the World Championship, the World Cup and the World Grand Champions Cup. From 2018, the World Grand Prix was replaced by the FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League and Challenger Cup. The FIVB World Grand Prix 2008 was a women's volleyball tournament in which 12 countries competed from 20 June to 12 July 2008. The finals were held in Yokohama Arena, Yokohama, Japan. Cuba, Brazil, Dominican Republic and the United States qualified for the tournament at the 2007 Women's Pan-American Cup in Colima, Mexico. 2007 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix
The FIVB World Grand Prix 2007 was the fifteenth edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament, which is the female equivalent of the Men's Volleyball World League. The 2007 World Grand Prix lasted four weeks with a total number of 65 matches. During the first, second and third week each team played nine matches in total. Preliminary rounds were staged in Japan (3x), Italy, Poland, Macau, Hong Kong, Russia and Chinese Taipei. The final round was played in Ningbo, PR China, at Beilun Gymnasium over five days and the best six teams from the preliminary rounds. The 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix was the 25th edition of the annual women's international volleyball tournament played by 32 teams between 7 July and 6 August. The Group 1 Final Round was held in Nanjing, China. Defending champions Brazil won their record twelfth title in the tournament after a 3–2 win over Italy. Serbia captured their third bronze medal in the competition by defeating China in a rematch of the previous year's Olympic final. 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship
The 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship was the 19th staging of the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the (FIVB). The Netherlands and Poland were dual hosts for this event. Serbia won their second title for the consecutive edition, beating Brazil in straight sets. Italy took the Bronze medal defeating USA. Tijana Bošković was again the recipient of the MVP award of the tournament. Host selection On 19 January 2019, FIVB announced that Netherlands and Poland were selected as dual hosts for this event. 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship
The 2018 FIVB Women's World Championship was the eighteenth edition of the event, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The final tournament was held in Japan from 29 September to 20 October 2018. The final four was held at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama. Serbia won their first world title, defeating Italy in five sets at the final.
