White Lung (band)
White Lung were a Canadians, Canadian punk rock band. The band consisted of Mish Barber-Way (vocals), Kenneth William (guitars) and Anne-Marie Vassiliou (drums). They have released two albums on Deranged Records and their latest two on Domino Recording Company. ''Exclaim!'' named the band's first full-length album ''It's the Evil'' as 2010's punk album of the year. The band was nominated for Punk/Hardcore Artist/Group of the Year at the 2011 Canadian Music Week Indie Awards. History White Lung was formed in Vancouver, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 2006. They first attained recognition as one of the standout acts involved with the Vancouver Emergency Room scene. Deranged Records is a Canadian punk rock, punk record label based in Roberts Creek, British Columbia. It was founded in 1999 by Gordon Dufresne. Sorry (White Lung Album)
''Sorry'' is the second studio album by Canadian punk rock band White Lung, released on May 29, 2012, on Deranged Records. New Jersey's ''Aquarian Weekly'' reported that the album "earned them a hearty critical reception at SXSW". Reception *''Rolling Stone'' named the album one of "The 10 Best Albums of 2012", saying: "Vancouver kids bang through ten bursts of female punk fury in 19 minutes, with Mish Way's hungry yowl leading the charge. Mish Way
Mish Barber-Way (born 15 July 1985) is a Canadian singer, songwriter and writer. She founded punk band White Lung in 2006 and served as its vocalist until the band's breakup in 2022. Early life Barber-Way was born on 15 July 1985 in Vancouver, British Columbia. As a child, she competed in figure skating before focusing on music and writing. In university, Barber-Way originally studied writing before switching to programs in philosophy and gender studies. During her post-secondary education, she worked as an intern for Vancouver Magazine and Hearty. During her teens, she worked as a dry cleaner. Career Barber-Way started playing music in her former boyfriend's band before co-forming White Lung in 2006. After the release of White Lung's second studio album '' Sorry'', Barber-Way considered leaving the band to concentrate on her writing career, but ultimately decided to stay after ''Sorry'' grew in popularity and the band was given a record contract with Domino.
