''The'' () is a grammatical article in English, denoting persons or things that are already or about to be mentioned, under discussion, implied or otherwise presumed familiar to listeners, readers, or speakers. It is the definite article in English. It is derived from gendered articles in Old English which combined in Middle English and now has a single form used with nouns of any gender. The word can be used with both singular and plural nouns, and with a noun that starts with any letter. This is different from many other languages, which have different forms of the definite article for different genders or numbers. Pronunciation In most dialects, "the" is pronounced as (with the voiced dental fricative followed by a schwa) when followed by a consonant sound, and as (homophone of the archai ...

"It's a Small World" is the pilot episode from the iconic American television series '' Leave It to Beaver'' (1957–1963). The pilot (originally proposed as ''Wally and The Beaver'') was first televised April 23, 1957, on the syndicated anthology series, ''Studio 57'', without a laugh track nor the series' well known theme song, "The Toy Parade". After rediscovery, it was aired as the third-season premiere for the 1980s TBS revival series '' The New Leave It to Beaver'' on October 4, 1987, exactly 30 years after the original series officially premiered on CBS. It was televised again in October 2007 as part of TV Land's 50th anniversary celebration of ''Leave It to Beaver''.
