It's Over (Level 42 Song)
"It's Over" is a 1987 song by the British band Level 42. Released as the fourth single from their album ''Running in the Family'', it reached #10 in the UK Singles Chart (becoming the band's sixth and final UK Top 10 hit). Release In addition to the regular 7" single, two 12" singles were released with different track listings. A limited edition 7" single pack was also released, including four photo postcards (of the band members) taken from the video location shoot, and four Level 42 logo stickers. A CD Video single (CD-V) was also released in 1988. While the album version sounds very similar to the 12" remix, the latter has a more defined "cold" end. Level 42
Level 42 is an English jazz-funk band formed on the Isle of Wight in 1979. They had a number of UK and worldwide hits during the 1980s and 1990s. Their highest-charting single in the UK was " Lessons in Love", which reached number three on the UK Singles Chart, and number 12 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart, upon its release in 1986. An earlier single, " Something About You", was their most successful chart-wise in the United States, reaching number 7 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. After much success as a live and studio band in the 1980s, Level 42's commercial profile diminished during the early 1990s following a series of personnel changes and musical shifts. Mammoth Lakes is a town in Mono County, California, and is the county's only incorporated community. It is located immediately to the east of Mammoth Mountain, at an elevation of . CD Video
CD Video (also known as CDV, CD-V, or CD+V) is a format of optical media disc that was introduced in 1987 that combines the technologies of standard compact disc and LaserDisc. CD-V discs are the same size as a standard 12-cm audio CD, and contain up to 20 minutes' worth of CD audio that can be played on any audio CD player. It also contains up to 5 minutes of LaserDisc video information with digital CD-quality sound, which can be played back on a newer LaserDisc player capable of playing CD-V discs or CD-V-only players. Running In The Family
''Running in the Family'' is the seventh studio album by British band Level 42, released in 1987. It features the UK hit singles: "Lessons in Love" (which reached No. 3 in May 1986), "Running in the Family" (No. 6 in February 1987), "To Be with You Again" (No. 10 in April '87), "It's Over" (No. 10, in September 1987) and "Children Say" (No. 22 at the end of 1987). All five singles peaked in the Top 10 in the Netherlands. "Lessons in Love" peaked at No. 1 in Germany, South Africa, Switzerland and Denmark. This was the last Level 42 album of the 1980s to feature brothers Phil (drums) (until '' Forever Now'' in 1994) and Rowland 'Boon' Gould (guitar) (until his guest appearance on ''Retroglide'' in 2006) who had cited dissatisfaction with the musical direction of the band and exhaustion as departure reasons. "Children Say" is a 1987 song by Level 42. Written by Mark King, Mike Lindup and Phil Gould, it was the final single to be issued from their album, ''Running in the Family''. The song made the top 30 in the UK, and the top 10 in the Netherlands, and followed a series of successes with the hits " Lessons in Love", "Running in the Family", " To Be With You Again" and " It's Over". Promo video The video of the song was the first of Level 42's career not to feature the brothers Phil and Boon Gould, who had recently left the band.
