''It's Good to Be Me!'' is the first Extended Play, EP by the Spanish rock band Dover (band), Dover. It was released on 8 July 2002 through EMI Odeon and Chrysalis Records. It contains one unreleased song, five live versions (recorded on 19 May 2002 in Getafe, Madrid) and two acoustic versions. Dover (band)
Dover was a Spanish rock band founded in Madrid in 1992. The group was composed of the sisters and group leaders Cristina Llanos (vocals) and Amparo Llanos (lead guitarist), drummer Jesús Antúnez and bassist Samuel Titos. They recorded eight albums, selling around two million copies. They are known for their second album '' Devil Came to Me'', which led them to international fame. In 2006, their sixth album, '' Follow the City Lights'' caused controversy as the style of the group changed from alternative rock to electronic pop. The band won, among other things, the revelation group awards at the 1997 Premios Ondas and the award for best Spanish artist at the 2000 MTV Europe Music Awards. The band was disbanded in 2016 by Amparo Llanos, who has since begun another project without her sister. Amparo Llanos
Amparo Llanos Fayos (born 27 May 1965) is a Spanish musician, guitarist and songwriter. She was the leader, along with her sister Cristina, of the Spanish rock band Dover. Biography Before the foundation of the band, she worked in the shop of her mother in Majadahonda. She took a course in history and three of Journalism, but according to her, "I left it because I was too timid". Her influences are The Beatles, R.E.M and Nirvana. Dover released his first album in 1995 ("Sister") with Amparo, her sister Cristina (vocals and guitar), Jesús Antúnez (drums) and Alvaro Díez (bass). The album was not a big success, because they sold only 700 copies. Two years later, they released " Devil Came to Me" with which they got a remarkable success of sales, 800,000 copies. Mark Lanegan
Mark William Lanegan (November 25, 1964 – February 22, 2022) was an American singer, songwriter, and poet. First becoming prominent as the lead singer for the early grunge band Screaming Trees, he was also known as a member of Queens of the Stone Age and The Gutter Twins. He released 12 solo studio albums, as well as three collaboration albums with Isobel Campbell and two with Duke Garwood. He was known for his baritone voice, which was described as being "as scratchy as a three-day beard yet as supple and pliable as moccasin leather" and has been compared to Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, and Nick Cave. Lanegan began his musical career in 1984 with Screaming Trees, with whom he released seven studio albums and five EPs before their disbandment in 2000. Gary Lee Conner (born Lee Gary Conner, August 22, 1962) is an American rock musician, best known as the guitarist and primary songwriter for Screaming Trees. Career Originally from Ellensburg, Washington, Conner formed the band Explosive Generation with his brother Van Conner and Mark Pickerel in the early 1980s. That band later evolved into Screaming Trees with the addition of singer Mark Lanegan in 1985. The band moved to Seattle in the late 1980s to join that city's burgeoning alternative rock scene. Conner played on seven studio albums with Screaming Trees until the band split in 2000. Conner released the album ''Mystery Lane'' in 1990, under the group name The Purple Outside. During the 1990s he made regular guest appearances on recordings by other alternative rock acts. Career As a bass player in high school, Conner formed the band Explosive Generation with his brother Gary Lee Conner and Mark Pickerel. Screaming Trees
Screaming Trees was an American rock band formed in Ellensburg, Washington, in 1984 by vocalist Mark Lanegan, guitarist Gary Lee Conner, bass player Van Conner, and drummer Mark Pickerel. Pickerel had been replaced by Barrett Martin by the time the band reached its most successful period. Odeon Records is a record label founded in 1903 by Max Straus and Heinrich Zuntz of the International Talking Machine Company in Berlin, Germany.
