''It's All About the Stragglers'' is the only studio album by the English garage duo Artful Dodger. It was released on 20 November 2000 by London Records. The album contains eight different vocalists, including Craig David. Production The album was recorded on a small budget in a room next to a Southampton radio station. Critical reception ''The A.V. Artful Dodger (duo)
Artful Dodger are a UK garage duo, originally based in the city Southampton, which became famous for its 2-step garage, 2-step hits and inaugurated Craig David's professional musical career with his appearance on their 1999 number-two hit "Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta), Re-Rewind". They scored seven consecutive UK top-20 hit singles from 1999 to 2001. The band is named after Artful Dodger, a character in the Charles Dickens novel ''Oliver Twist'', because of the many bootlegs they made in the early days. They are referred to in the Streets' single "Let's Push Things Forward". Many Artful Dodger tracks can be found on the UK garage compilation album series ''Pure Garage'', mixed by DJ EZ. The Dreem Teem are a British DJ, music production and remixing trio consisting of DJ Spoony, Mikee B, and Timmi Magic. They formed in 1996 through pirate radio, and were instrumental in developing the UK garage sound. They presented radio shows on Kiss 100 (1997-2000) and BBC Radio 1 (2000-2003). Biography The Dreem Teem were formed in 1996 after meeting on the London pirate radio station, London Underground FM. Mikee B had previously been part of the breakbeat hardcore trio Top Buzz. Romina Johnson (born 1973) is a London-based R&B, soul and garage singer. She is perhaps best known in the UK for providing the lead vocals to the Artful Dodger song " Movin' Too Fast", a number 2 hit in early 2000. Life and career Johnson was born in Rome to an American father, the musician Wesley Johnson, and an Italian mother. Her singing debut was in 1994, for the Italian TV show ''Non è la RAI''. "TwentyFourSeven" is a song by UK garage duo Artful Dodger featuring All Saints member Melanie Blatt. The version that is included on their debut studio album, '' It's All About the Stragglers'', features another All Saints member, Nicole Appleton, instead of Blatt.
